Affirmative

Have you ever owned a train set?

Yes, I have! When I was a very little girl I owned a train set. It was made from probably cast iron, so still the old-fashioned, heavy kind, not the plastic children play with today. The locomotive was wonderful! Somehow, something that looked like smoke would come out of the chimney, the headlamp lit up, and it would chug along really well as it pulled the train. My sister, who was much older than I, would help me arrange the track. Sometimes we would tie a troll to the track and the train would run into the troll and derail. Horrible, I know- but we were copying cartoons, and we thought it was terribly funny! I loved my train, loads of fun.

What was the first thing you did on this new year's day?

your trainset sounds wonderful!. I used to live near someone who had one like that. he loved trains, in fact he even had his own steam train (real one)

first thing I did on new year's day was watch the fireworks and the clock strike midnight
what are you doing in 2023 that is new, and that you didn't do last year

I'm using a "word of the day" to help me focus on some areas I want to improve. I have to keep it limited to a few things though or I'll just wind up panicked.

Do you prefer to dress for winter or summer?

Summer. I hate the extra work of getting coats, mittens, hats and scarves out then to put on, and then getting over heated in stores and having to go back out in the cold. ( shudder)

What was the last show you binge watched?

The Crown, Season 5

Q: Are you early, late, or right on time to appointments?

Usually right on time, or early. I think being late is rude.

Do you have someone else you are taking care of?

I've helped with errands for family members, cooked and cleaned for them, taken them to the doctor, but I've never been a full time caretaker for someone.

If you had to choose between a mountain cabin or a beachside cottage, which would you choose and why?

At this precise moment, neither. I just got back from a trip to Mexico staying along the beach at times. It was way too hot. I think of the two, my preferred is probably the mountain cabin. As beautiful as the sea and beaches are, I think there's simply more to do in the mountains for me.

What sport (or other type of physical activity) do you like to do most?

I must be having a bit of a random moment, because I read this question and thought, well, my favourite physical activity to do is go to the toilet (admit it though, it feels good to be empty)

I guess.... holding a cup?. I'm really not physical at all which might explain why I walk I'm slower than the world's slowest tortoise

what is something you've learned recently that you wouldn't believe until you actually looked it up?

You can make cheese in a crockpot (still not sure I'd try it but it's apparently possible).

Do you like cake or something else for your birthday?

I prefer other treats. I'm not much of a cake person.

Could you find a hardware store (not Walmart, Target, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc) open at 7:30 PM in your town?

There are so many! What came to mind is about head hair. In many cases if a person loses a lot of their head hair (i.e. from chemo or other reason, like Lithium/medication hair loss, extreme stress) it frequently grows back curly or curlier than in the past. It happened to me, and apparently there is support for this fact. I'm not sure if it happens to people with racial backgrounds where hair is always straight (like some East Asians), though.

Is your natural head hair a different color in adulthood than it was in early childhood? And or texture different?

No, no real change. I've always had a head of quick growing blonde hair since childhood.

When you are going through a depressive episode, do you tend to notice fluctuating energy levels before your mood goes down, or does it come all at once?

energy level goes first. Right now I could easily sleep 15 or more hours per day.

Do you re-read books over and over or is just once enough?

If they're good I'll read them 2-3 times. Otherwise, no.

When you read a book, how do you know where to stop? At a section? At a chapter? Any page?

There’s no rhyme or reason where I stop if I have a bookmark. I sometimes stop in the middle of a sentence. But if I don’t have a bookmark I try to stop at the beginning of a new chapter and repeat the chapter number a few times so I can remember it.

Do you take random days off? Where you don’t get dressed, don’t do anything but veg out?
