I sometimes get it. But most of the time I am OK. Does anyone else have this problem?

My internist told me to get a blood pressure cuff to learn what my reading is when I feel lightheaded and weak. She does not believe that I need to monitor the blood pressure all the time. My top reading at dr's offices and during blood donations are usually between 105 and 115, but I have been known to have 100 and even 90.

When I was on a higher dose of Seroquel, my blood pressure would become low, especially in the morning. I would get a bit dizzy and need to sit down. Now that my dose is lower, I'm not having that problem anymore.

I used to have low pressure no matter what meds I was on, but it was mostly ADs that were affecting me. No longer have that problem. I’m no longer on any kind of ADs. I only knew from when they took my blood pressure in ip. I never fainted from it.

The APs I take are seroquel and loxapine. Neither cause a problem.

However, I am on metformin and THAT causes me to become dizzy and faint and light headed. For me I think it's more of a low blood sugar thing? I'm not sure if it's low nlood pressure or low sugar. It just sucks

Thank you. I am glad it was dose-dependent for you. If the problem continues for me, I will try to reduce my Latuda a little bit.

Yeah. I'm not sure what it is. If I eat candy or have some orange juice I usually feel better. I was thinking about going off metformin, but I'm terrified of getting diabetes because I'm on seroquel. And I'm terrified of weight gain!

Metformin is also a very popular longevity med these days, taken by healthy people, although its longevity benefits for normal weight people are not as proven as they are for people with problems.

My pdoc told me it doesn't necessarily make you lose weight, but that it prevents you from gaining weight. I'm on it so I don't gain weight (or get diabetes).

Are you sure the low blood pressure is from an antipsychotic? Or that your blood pressure actually is "low"? A lot of people, especially younger, have low to low normal blood pressure. Have you asked your internist if systolic blood pressure readings of 90 or 100 are truly concerning? Do you feel faint?

When I was younger, I had lowish blood pressure, before and then while on bipolar medications. I had systolic readings of 90 and 100 much of the time. Nowadays at 51 I have had some years of high blood pressure, even to the point of needing blood pressure medications. I don't know that I can blame my antipsychotic for the high blood pressure completely, other than mostly that it does contribute a little to the weight gain and metabolic changes I've experienced over the years. Another factor I suspect is stress and adrenaline rushes I experience from stress, anxiety, and occasional bipolar hypomanic/manic symptoms. Also, genetic predisposition. But I'm talking about high blood pressure here. Not low.

As I wrote, it would be good to ask your doctor what blood pressure they think may be concerning. Or if you have symptoms. You can read a bit about blood pressure at Blood pressure chart: What is a healthy range? 8 signs your blood pressure is too high | Express.co.uk It focuses mostly on high blood pressure, but also mentions low and gives a chart. I've read that blood pressure can indeed be different at different ages. The chart (and most all charts) show normal blood pressure between 80 and 100 systolic, and 60 and 80 diastolic.

I'd be thrilled if my systolic reading was 90 or 100 again. I'm really curious why your doctor in any way seemed to worry you about it. If they already knew your blood pressure was picture perfect, they should have just flat out told you so instead of worrying you. Is there something much lower about your diastolic readings?

If you feel faint, you may want to determine if it's truly blood pressure to blame or anxiety about the blood pressure. Anxiety is notorious for causing dizziness and faint feelings, too. In those cases, breathing and grounding techniques can sometimes be helpful. Or sometimes breathing into a brown paper bag.

She told me yo get a blood pressure cuff and measure it but only when I feel lightheaded or weak. She said that I do not need daily monitoring but only to monitor when I feel that way to determine if indeed it drops. I will examine the chart you linked it, thank you! My blood pressure reading two days before my latest episode of feeling faint was 101/64. On most occasions when my blood pressure is taken and it is measured frequently because I regularly donate blood is more like 110/70 and I feel completely fine. I am one year older than you.

Once my blood pressure at the donation center was under 90/60 and I did not make the minimal cut-off. I was sent to the canteen yo eat and drink, had salty pretzels there, hydrated well and thr blood pressure went up and I made the cutoff and was able to donate.

My internist said that systolic under 100 plus symptomatic is low, but same blood pressure and not symptomatic is considered normal.
