@Crazy Hitch I am so sorry for your loss. I think you posted it in the wrong thread though. this is questions and I know you'll get more support in check-in . I'm glad your partner's father isn't suffering anymore and I hope his family can find comfort in that in the coming days.

Music. Guitar/bass, piano, harmonica, (historically trombone), and I started violin this year so hopefully I'll one day get to a point people can tolerate listening to me on that too.

Favorite thing ever?

When I get up on the ridge and the only thing higher is the path ahead, the trees get little, and I'm watching the fog I'm enshrouded in traverse the range way faster than me.

If you had the resources to be a researcher of anything, what would it be?

I’d research mental health and medicine….

If you could go back and study anything what would you want to study?

I don't remember what it is officially called but a PhD in behavioral psychology. It works to find behavior strategies for people with behavioral management issues. It complements my OT experience well and I had a hard time deciding which I wanted to do at the end of my senior career. I wound up an OT solely because I was severely depressed and the OT application was easier. When I was working I wanted a PhD in gerontology. Didn't happen.

Will you eat turkey on Thursday?

Nope, it’s my birthday so I don’t have to do turkey. I’ve the day planed out, to start I’m taking an extra half a pill Wednesday night, sleeping late. Watching the parade then watching the dog show. Then taking a long hot shower and reading. Gonna eat salmon and wild rice. Gonna have a me day.

You gonna eat turkey on turkey day?

@Nammu I'm jealous.

Unfortunately yes. I say that b/c my brother is bringing his wild collie. Hopefully he's mellowed since I last saw him but I don't have a lot of hope for that. The collie also means our dog probably has to be shut aside to prevent fights. It's just not fun. Thanksgiving is just the 3 of us and my mom and I neither are big fans of turkey. So ti's just not our favorite holiday. This weekend we get my nieces and my sister and BIL may come up too. That will be nice. My family is just screwed up and my mom and I land in the middle.

Ok, sorry for my sad story.

Sounding a little Narnia like but not expecting Turkish delight to be the answer, what is your favorite food in all the world?

Hands down it has to be lasagna but it’s so unhealthy for you. Sigh. That and caramel peppermint crisp pudding that I make once a year on Christmas!

Are you at your ideal weight or do meds interfere with your weight loss?

Meds totally interfere with weight loss. I take my APs at night and I think as soon as they hit my bloodstream I get hungry. So I snack at night which is bad. I lost 30 lbs but since I've been on Seroquel I have stayed fairly stable but haven't lost anything. I'm getting ready to join the Y and hope that helps. I don't care about my ideal weight, I just want to be 23 lbs less than I am now. I wish I could dump the Seroquel. Clozarpine has enough of this issue and the Seroquel doesn't help.

Most annoying side effect aside from weight gain/inability to lose weight?

Dry hair and skin. Kind of looks like I have dandruff and my nose is constantly peeling from lithium.

What’s the worst med you’ve ever been on?

It's hard to choose but I think Abilify. I took 2.5 mgs of it for a few days and it took a month to get rid of the double vision. I couldn't even drive. I was off work for 6 weeks. I think I might have wound up off work anyway but the vision stuff sealed that deal.

What is your favorite med?

Seroquel. Definitely seroquel! Or sertraline and wellbutrin.

What's your favorite med (or meds)?

Clozaril, gabapentin and reluctantly seroquel.

Do you have good relationships with the people who you are with on holidays?

I'll be happy and content in 24 hours. Thanksgiving is rough. I'll get through it and be ok again though.

Do you belong to a gym or a Y?

I don’t. I’m so unmotivated!

Do you use any fragrance in addition to deodorant to smell nice? (Perfume/cologne)

I don't. I wasn't able to in the job I worked because of potentailly sensitive/allergic patients and then by the time I went on disablity I WAS allergic and sensitive to it. So I smell like fresh and clean Secret.

We've all been on here a while. If you're new take a guess. You probably won't be far off. Ask me something you have wanted to know about me.

Over the rainbow was taken and for religious reasons everything happens beyond the rainbow so it seemed like what I was looking for. Now rainbow isn't nearly as popular as it was then.

Do you have a pet that is very attuned to your mood?

Oh yes! Definitely our cat Stella. She's attuned to everyone's mood. Whenever anyone is upset she's right there, trying to make them feel better. Our male cat is listed as my ESA, but she's the REAL emotional support animal around here!

Are you more of an introvert or an extrovert? Do you find the holidays exhausting mentally?

I'm an introvert and the holidays exhaust me.

Where in the world would you like to travel?

To be honest, no where. I traveled enough growing up. I'm perfectly content right here.

What's your favorite holiday?
