I admit, i am a tech dinosaur. Back then we had "unisex" bathrooms because companies never had female programmers before. I used to walk half way across the site to the lobby to pee!

My end degree would be masters in human computer interaction -computer science. My bachelor's degree is liberal studies w information system, project management, and psych minors.

My husband's will be liberal studies with an education minor.

If I can do an accelerated degree i would definitely thrive in a fast paced environment.

I don't understand why there's so much negativity to me trying to get out of my situation and off assistance to better my situation. I find it disheartening and I feel the negativity is affecting others who wish to try but don't say anything due to there severity.

I'm acutely aware I have severe mental illness and physical issues which at times leave me bed bound. I understand I'm the one that the system is supposed to work for but it's broken and being gutted and caused way to much stress fluctuating every month.

Someone asked how my therapist thinks. She hates the idea because stress exasperates my symptoms. But she's not going to pay my bills. I'm not willing to put the pressure on my husband to be full provider. Plus a teacher's salary won't cut it here and we're not moving out of the area. My kid is determined to make this her home. We've been drowning so long and it's going to get worse soon with the rent increase. It's stupid we may have to put our dog down because rent went up.

My MS degree would be essential to my employment. If it's possible they help out that's great if not I have to find $800 a month or take out private loans.

So I talked to my therapist today about my plans and stress. She's okay with me trying. Now I have to work on my time management skills and stress tolerance but she says I have support. I have to fill out pass today.

I just (as in finished 15 minutes ago) had a meeting on ticket to work and getting off benefits and such, and they said "if you want to be a math tutor, they'll help pay for a math degree, but if your plan is to be a pilot, they won't pay for music school."

There's a lot of safeties in place if things don't go as planned (as of today anyways) that depend on if you're on SSI or SSDI (or a concurrent beneficiary). Like for SSDI you have expedited reinstatement up to 5 years after completely coming off of cash benefits so if someone starts working today, they have their 9 months of making over $1160 and a few years of EPE, and then if up to 5 years after that you can't work you're (as of what current law says) able to get back on SSDI without having to do a whole new application process.

And just saying in the school I was at, you can get 60 credits in a year if you take 5-6 courses in a semester (depending on how many are labs or not) and do 3 consecutive semesters (including the summer). That's ridiculously hard, and I couldn't do it with what I planned on majoring because of the limited schedule and prerequisites (and I would go straight to the state hospital and never come out taking calc II, calc III, and diff e at the same time while in 2 other courses), but I'm sure there are majors and school that's possible for.

You can only work on 2 classes at a time here as soon as you finish 1 you can start a new one usually that day ( unless it's the weekend) it's mostly freshman and sophomore level classes, nothing higher than calc 1. So your 300-400 level courses have to be taken at the school but you only need 9 upper left courses and 10 classes to finish the degree. You have to finish a class a month at the very least. So if I go the slowest pace possible it'll be 30 months for my bachelor's and 25 months for my master's. we'll see how it goes. Microbio and workplace communication is going to be a *****.

So my husband starts his plan today. I'll start as soon as my laptop is fixed. We have several other things we should be doing but we're kinda in survival mode, half packed. I decided to do "a year" at Coursera before Sophia or the college. Just to speed up my tech skills part of my degree in case I get kicked off SSI for going to school I can have everything in place for an internship. If I have too.

I think here someone mentioned a PhD looking better than a masters for psych, and I do want to add a bonus for a PhD is that you will usually get a $20-30k stipend (sometimes more depending on the school) for your work, and can get paid being a TA while at it, too. Downside is that it will take more time and likely be more stressful than a master's though.

My minor is psych and project management with ux and full stack as my 30 credit lower level electives. Then my master's is in computer human interaction. There is a stipend based PhD for it but I can't see me being a TA. Maybe after the Masters but teaching seems too peoplely for me.

I talked to my therapist today and our goal is for me to be able to take proctored tests without buying a burner laptop for my master's. Figure out how to reality test in smaller groups and one on one. She realized just how hard meeting over zoom was when my symptoms are acting up. So we'll be working on that too. It's weird when your therapist forgets your crazy.

She doesn't like that I took into account my paranoia when choosing a school program but that's part of my disability an ugly part but still.

So my PCP still hasn't filled out my form for career services. If I don't hear back by the 1st. I will start classes. H has done 5 classes so far.

I'm deteriorating while waiting my turn. I find myself questioning wether I can do it. My anxiety is not under control. My head is loud some nights. It's 4 am and I haven't slept. my t keeps finding strongly held delusions, like my fear of people. Why I chose one school over the other. And me I do nothing but ignore it, if it's too much for me to handle
Possible trigger:
. Anxiety is too high. I have therapy tomorrow and I don't want to be there. I'm loosing my voice again. I know this because I have to repeat what I say to h because I'm too quiet.
