I still haven't had a period since February. I'm counting my lucky blessings I guess. Hot flushes have not started (yet). Touch wood. I'm 47. What if this isn't perimenopause and I'm going in to full blown menopause? Noooo period!

I'm 42 as well and am in perimenopause. My BP was stable on medication from 2012 to this year and now my moods are cycling again because of the hormonal chaos. It's crazy-making! And unalana - I hear you on noise driving you crazy! I work in a setting with a lot of kids and teens, and there are times when I'm about to lose my mind! Plus, my office is generally freezing, and I feel like I'm turning the space heater on and off every 30 seconds because as soon as I turn it on, I get way too hot. To top it off, I've been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in the past year, and that also makes me sensitive to heat and cold. I'm about ready to lose my mind! Sorry I don't have anything more helpful to offer, but I wanted to let you know that you're not alone!

I changed my sheets into a set I didn't even know I still had and I must have had them a long time because there was a big period stain on it and that reminded me of what it was like to have horrendously heavy and painful periods. I'm so glad I had my hysterectomy. And I just wanted to give my great sympathy to those of you who still have periods to contend with. I hate the hot flashes but the bleeding was so much worse.

It was like I was at the frickin equator before. The hot flash was so intense I needed a full on ice jacket in order to get rid of it. I had ice packets, but wherever I put them on my torso it was like the hotness just spread away from that area and made the burning worse on the rest of my torso! I was practically sweating man! I'm finally cooling off now, but damn! Great. I said that and now it's coming back...

Right now I'm ready to go to my ob/gyn and beg her to give me a frickin hystrectomy!!

I'm also nauseous because I'm about to have my period apparently, so that's fun. I took a zofran early this morning, which helped, but I haven't taken one since.

Omg I'm dying!!!!

I know. Boohoo.

Sorry. Just REALLY needed to rant and rave for a bit.

I'm feeling so hot tonight that it's making it hard to get to sleep. I finally turned the thermostat down and hopefully it will get cooler in here. I feel as hot as I did earlier in the 90 degree weather.

It's been pointed out to me that my birthmark (port wine stain, usually purple) turns bright red during hot flashes. Anyone else have a port wine stain and does it change colors on you?
