Ok so I can't see them, but last night I felt like tiny bugs were crawling on me- my scalp, arms, legs... anywhere. Especially in my nose, too. Even in my teeth! In my ears... I find these little pieces of skin or something... or scabs?? It makes me feel like I have tiny tiny bugs crawling on me- it itches!! I took benedryl last night after a hot soapy shower and that seemed to help. So I changed my sheets, too. (Slept home last night but night before at boyfriend's and he washed his sheets, too. I use "free" laundry soap and no fabric softener...) But now its back. Ugh! Is this really tiny bugs- had it before in the past budistant past- or is this a hallucination??

Well, if you can't see anything on your skin, and feel it in your teeth, I'd say it's probably not a skin rash or anything. It might be a nerve thing, so I'd go to a general practitioner just to get yourself checked out. It's tough when you can't trust yourself to know for sure, so a professional's opinion is in order if it doesn't stop.

Even if it does stop, I'd go to your T or Pdoc and tell them so that they can determine if it's prodromal of a manic or depressive phase. Best to make sure. Any other symptoms indicative of Bipolar, or just that one right now? Take care.

I was diagnosed as "Bipolar I" two years ago. I've been having depressive symptosm the last several days, though. Usual for me IF I have an episode is mania.

They told me to call back in a couple days if it doesn't go away after taking generic zyrtek and maybe be seen. Benedryl just made me really sleepy. They said this would, too, hence why I took it right before bed. They seem to think its allergies.

Two possibilities. Mineral deficiency I forgot which one but you can google it, and/or it's possible it's a yeast overgrowth in your system called Candida.

I also have it happen when I eat chocolate if I'm allergic to the brand.

Hope this helps!

I have had that buggy feeling before, when I was getting manic.
You have a lot of stress right now, how are you sleeping ...the benadryl is a good thing to take to help yous leep if you need it.
It used to work for me but now I jsut take klonipin, was taking ambien for a couple of years but had to get off of it.
The klonipin works so so.
at .5mg... I refuse to go up in dose I would like to get off of it.
I take 40mg of geodon at night for maintenance. I take lamictal as well.

I took zyrtek but not sleepy now. I was ready to zonk out around 8:30 at the bookstore though. Go figure.

I've had yeast infections before but none of them make my whole body itch like this. The zyrtek has had plenty of time to start working and hasn't done a thing for this itching. this kind of feels like laying in a bed of toast crumbs- but I'm not!

I've got really severe allergies, and it doesn't sound like that's your problem.

The question I would have for your doctors is why they think your teeth itching is allergy related? Did you tell them your teeth itched? Did you only have a phone conversation, or did they examine you? Secondly, was it a GP, a psychiatrist, or other doctor you saw? Allergies are really complicated and stress is well known to exacerbate allergy symptoms AND manic symptoms. I would never see a psychiatrist for allergy problems.

At least we know it isn't hives-but this complicates things even further in that I can't see how it is allergy related if you don't manifest any symptoms of allergy other than the overall body itching (with no outward signs).

That description of you laying on bed crumbs makes gives me the willy jillys!!!!
Whats the next step?

The pdoc called and said I should ask my primary about the itching. So I called my primary and they said to try generic zyrtek for the itching. I did. So I'm not sneezing but the little red bumps from the itching is still there. Benedryl has been suggested. Nobody has thought it was just a mental issue. This was all over the phone.

The itching isn't exactly INside my teeth - its more like I get the little pieces of skin that I get everywhere else from the crawly feeling. they are between my teeth. I have little red spots where I've picked each itch off.
