Can anyone help me? I am in serious trouble. I am seriously sick and need to get help. I started seeing someone a year ago, but had to stop. I am destroying my life and the lives of everyone I love... I promised I would get help. But I won't have benefits until December... what should I do?!?!? Where can I go?!?!? I can't wait until December... I am having constant thoughts of death and suicide, I can't focus... I'm raging inside, and my head won't stop, I am going crazy, I'm all over the place, up, down... I feel like I am about to explode and do something horrible, I keep doing crazy things and having black outs... I am losing chunks of time... where do I go with almost no money and no benefits??? I'm from Philadelphia, PA...

What a terrible situation to be in. The only reason my husband & I reconciled is because of his health insurance. I was worried I would lose my job (which I did) and be without coverage. As for you, I don't really have any answers, except to say what my sister does (she is also without insurance). When my sister has any medical crisis she goes to the emergency room, and they have to help her. She has gone so many times, that the hospital started Social Security Disability paperwork for her. Again, I'm not necessarily suggesting this route--I'm just relaying what she does. I hope you are able to find a workable solution for you. Until then, do everything within your power to hold on.

Hope you are OK, leesarene.
Some very good psych meds (like lithium and Prozac) are available super-cheap at places like Wal-Mart...if you can find a doc who'll work with you (maybe via the ER?), with any luck something affordable will help your moods. There is help out there...good luck and hang in there. |

i agree that you should definitely go to the ER to get help. they can't deny you care, they must treat you by law even if you don't have insurance. and try to talk to the doc about giving you meds like the ones that were suggested above that are affordable. i hope you are able to get help. keep us posted.
