I deactivated my FB account because the lack of responses to my threads killed me.
Thanks for this!

I haven't deactivated mine yet, mainly because it took forever to find and add everyone I know on there. And because I haven't bothered to migrate to Google+ yet. But I still have those moments where I think, "Why bother posting status updates and whatnot? No one gives a flying fsck at a rolling donut."

You know you're borderline when you are still worried about being made fun of if you're wearing the wrong kind of underwear, and you're 47 years old!

Seriously, when shopping for new underwear, I gave my husband the hardest time. "I can't wear those! People laugh at women who wear granny panties." Hubby tried to tell me nobody would be able to see what kind of underwear I'm wearing, but I *know* better. If you lean forward or bend over, and this flash of white or pastel cotton peeks out above the waistband of your jeans, people point and laugh and chant "granny panties, granny panties!" I've seen it happen on TV. What Not to Wear, more than once. And in YouTube comments. The smaller your underwear, the cooler you are. Anything bigger than a thong is laughed at.

Now, am I not just a little bit too old to be panicking at the thought of other people laughing at my underwear? Or worrying about whether or not I'm "cool"? But I can't seem to talk myself out of that way of thinking.
Thanks for this!

^^^ I got a laugh out of that b/c I feel the same way.

My daughters will say "Mom, I can see your underwear. Pull up your pants or something." Gee thanks sweetie, I really wanted everyone to turn and look at me. I took one of the girls shopping with me for underwear. I was looking at some and she responds "I didn't know they made adult underwear look cute. How come you don't have more cute underwear?"

So maybe it does matter what kind of underwear you wear.

You know you're borderline when you can't help but think that women avoid you because they somehow KNOW you're crazy, and you keep telling yourself you're going to be single the rest of your life because you will never be good enough for anyone else.

This probably only refers to me...

You know you're borderline if you can fit what you want to say in once sentence, you don't bother at all

Not to be insulting, but... Sounds more like OCD.

Possibly. Pdoc reckons I have "traits". Things like I have to have at least 50 rolls of toilet paper in the house at all times. Same goes with tampons etc. My kids have to have 30 sets of undies each and socks and ALWAYS have clothes that fit. Same with shoes. First sign of growth and I've bought them a whole new wardrobe...

Can you see how I was neglected

I was away from PC for quite some time. It made me feel so good when I came back and saw that the thread was still going strong. I think laughter is a good way to heal. Sometimes it's the only way I can get out of bed in the morning. I hope others have benefited from this thread.

I know I have. It's a relief to know there are others like me who can teach what they've learned to people such as myself.

It's so hear to hear that! Sometimes when I'm raging and tears are streaming down my cheeks I post on this thread and try to put some humor in the revelations.

I have also benefited. It helps to know that I am not the only one who feels/acts/thinks this way. I really don't get to talk about BPD with anyone outside of PC because nobody really understands
Thanks for this!

This thread has been great for me as well. Its nice to know I'm not alone in all of this. And that I can look back and laugh a bit at what I did. It has also helped my guy to understand me better and has helped our relationship and communication.
Thanks for this!

You know you're borderline when you've had a million accounts on a mental health network...

....when your in-laws seem to have nothing good to say so you're always on the offensive, ready to insult or criticize them with something worse.

if someone is late for an appointment or a date you wonder again if he's avoiding you.

you end the most important relationship (not romantic) you have EVER had in your life because you're moving away and you don't do long distance. It's all or nothing, baby!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
