Ok so I we all know the negative connotations that come with BPD. I personally get down about hearing how we are the worst of the worst to deal with. Soooooooooooooo I think that we made need to a list of the stregnths of Borderlines. I will start off.

1. we can feel emotions like nobody else
2. PASSIONATE
3.not only do we feel our own emotions intensely we have an inate ability to feel others emotions at a visceral level

ok anybody else want to add something positive to balance us out?
Thanks for this!

With therapy, we learn much more about ourselves than a lot of people get the opportunity to do. By association we also learn more about others in general.

We notice other people in a crowd that are also having trouble feeling like they belong and help them feel more comfortable. Most people don't notice the people trying to blend into the wall.

People find us charming.

People find us intelligent.

We are compassionate.

And we are definitely not boring. That's for sure.

If we put our obsessions into something good and healthy we excel in whatever it is we choose to do.

This isn't what I'd call a "quality", but it's a good thing just the same.

Being Borderline got me out of jury duty.

The quiet scares me 'cause it screams the truth.
Please don't tell me that we had that conversation,
'Cause I won't remember, save your breath 'cause what's the use?

Aahh, the night is calling, and it whispers to me softly,
"Come and play". Aahh, I am falling, and if I let myself go
I'm the only one to blame.

I'm safe, up high, nothing can touch me, but why do I feel
this party's over?
No pain, inside, you're like perfection, but how do I feel
this good sober?"

I'm not BPD so I hope you don't mind me chiming in...
I have autism and often don't fit in and people hardly ever give me a chance. Most of my friends are BPD because they are open minded and sensitive enough to give me a chance.

We have excellent memories of conversations...most of the time....unless it's in therapy and we're dissociating
Thanks for this!

It's ok, thanks for joining And that is very true, BPD people are sensitive to the feelings and needs of others.

Wow, I love every single one of these posts! I have never been officially diagnosed by my therapist but I'd say there is a 99% that I have BPD, and on top of that I have ADHD, Anxiety Disorder, & ODD, which I'm taking medication for. There are good qualities of BPD too, if there wasn't then I wouldn't have any of the amazing friends that I have right now

BPD people LOVE fiercely, more then any average person could ever dream of, and they hate with such intensity, that it rattles the normal person to their core, that is why they are so scared of us but at the same time, they can be very sensitive and accepting. They protect any and everything that they love, and succeed in anything they go after, not to mention they are intelligent

pEOPLE WITH BORDERLINE PERSONaltiy know a lot about sex and get sexuALLY EXPIRIENCED. pEOPLE WITH BORDERLINE PERSONALITY HELP OTHER PEOPLE UNDERSTAND SEX. pEOPLE WITH BORDERLINE PERSONALITY Can be There only problem is the fact that they need to build fences between identities. they also need to be in helthy relationships. they are really cool people to people whose parents tried to scare them away from sex. they help those kinds of people. Someone with borderline personality can get a job by having a great job interview. they are neet people. the identity disorders I know about are bipolar, borderline and disossciative. I have different people I change into too. It's not your fualt you have it. You should go to therapy.

This thread is brilliant Too often, i have crawled up in a ball from the things my psychiatrist, family or general information has said or informed me about my disorder.

But here are some things about us that aren't so bad.

1. Though we pay the price for our busy thinking, we can visualise things to a very intense level, lots of detail and very visual.

2. We pick up on others emotions like a sniffer dog, and have them all figured out. We notice the other ones that generally don't seem to fit in

3. We are often literally talented, we can write well, and have beautiful but sad emotions that have much more depth and intellect than others.

Its so nice to talk to people who are going through the same thing
