I am so unmotivated lately and I have little people that depend on my ability to get stuff done and I just don't have any desire to do any of it.

I'm currently off any medication but I think that's about to change as my h rang my tdoc Maybe it will help....

So, share with me how you get your arse off the chair and get stuff done

Sometimes I write a list of things in the smallest detail. Then I cross off what I've done and it feels good. For example, instead of clean a room I will list each thing in that room that I want to accomplish:
Get up from computer
Take off slippers
Take shower
Put on really comfy clothes
Eat something
Clean of table
Dust table
Pick up socks
Put "X" away
Put "Y" away

Can even write in a break:
Make cup of coffee. Speaking of coffee, sometimes I will rely on a strong cup of coffee to get me going. (Other days I can't tolerate the caffeine)

Music. If it makes you want to move, or lifts your spirits, put some on to listen to, to move to.

I have Aerosmith blaring from the computer right now so that's helped get the dishwasher loaded

I will write a list. Great idea echoes
Thanks for this!

Right now, I don't get up to do stuff much when the kids aren't around. I know I need to get stuff done, but I have no motivation to do it.

Nic, that is entirely me. My eldest goes to school and youngest is in child care 4 days a week but do you think I can lift my sorry butt off the chair? Not very often.
I know I'm a crap parent in those respects and I'm emotionally vacant most other times but I do love them and I want what is best for them.
I just suck at housework.
Thanks for this!

I just try to figure out the smallest three tasks, do the first, try to do the second, and while I am completing the third, I think of the next easiest task and so on. Hope you feel better soon. Remember, you are loved by those litte ones more than you could ever know and they think you're perfect even when you think you're flawed!!!
