So at my last appointment my pdoc prescribed me Zoloft because I was having some depression issues. I started taking it, and was nearly always exhausted and felt nauseous. I decided enough was enough and stopped taking it yesterday and am already starting to feel better. I'm more active and able to get things done and actually put makeup on for the first time since I last took it. Is it a bad idea to not take it?

It could be the Zoloft is not the right medication for you. I would see your doctor tell them why you went off the med and have them prescribe something new if you still need something.

I was prescribed a plethora of antidepressants. They all made me lethargic, like you. I do not like to be a drug pusher, but I completely gave up on ADs and went to a mood stabililzer (lamictal). Changed my life, could have been a few other things as well, if you read my post about DBT. Probably the combo though.

They say not to take yourself off meds....did you call your doc, just to check in?

I will Monday. I take Lamictal, Neurotin, Vistaril, and Trazadone currently so they help but the Zoloft I just couldn't seem to stomach.

it can take 2-3 days or even 1-2 weeks for the side effects to disappear. It took a week for me but got better. Also if u were started at 50mg u may want to try splitting that in half to make 25mg, I did that and worked out better for me. Be sure you run this idea by your doctor first! I take Zoloft for the anxiety mostly and worked fine for a while, seems to be getting weaker now for me. I'm at 100mg.

You better talk to her. 25mg is the usual starting point. My doc started me at 50 and it was too much too soon for me. How long have u been taking them?

I think I took it for about 2 weeks and then gave up.
