Hey guys,
So i've been struggling with finding a medication to help stop my mind from running all the time and my anxiety. I am currently one paxil. Which i don't feel like is really doing what i need it too. Ive been on adderal which just made me sick, and i was on another mild antidepressant before which didn't do much. Im just wondering if any of you have any input of a good med that you have personally had work for you with lowering the EXTREMES.

No one here is in a position to give you medical advice and the experiences of others won't have any bearing on what will or won't work for you sadly. As far as I know, second generation anti-psychotics and mood stabilisers are used in the treatment of BPD. This could well be outdated info but either way I think the best advice would be to talk to your psychiatrist. State very clearly what you want and if you're willing too, carry on trying meds until you find one that best meets your expectations. Good luck.
Thanks for this!

Hello ~ I am currently taking Buspirone which works pretty good for me. When I take it it usually effects me within about 30 minutes rather strongly, in about 20 minutes after that I more on an even keel/mellowed or mellowed out and stay within better control range. It's not perfect, don't think any could be, and at times I wish the Buspar didn't wear off before my evening dose. I was on Paxil for a few years, well before I knew I had BPD and it worked ok on my anxiety but seemed to make me feel too down. Then I hit this brick wall about two years ago and Paxil was no longer cutting it for me at all and my emotions spiraled, my anxiety soared and, well . . . here I am.

Lamotrigine stopped my racing thoughts and enables me to concentrate better.

Paxel is poison, in my opinion. At least to me and my family members. The stuff nearly killed my mom, and made me have suicidal thoughts.
Adderall made me feel great, but the stuff also made me a lot more aggressive, loud, and fast talking. Which I am already all of those things so that was no bueno.
For me, Lexapro (Esitalopram) 20 MG combined with Abilify (Aripiprizole) 2 MG worked the best for me. Started with 10 MG of Lexapro, went up to 20, an d then added Abilify.
Note: I'm not currently on meds due to breastfeeding.
Best of luck.
