Is anyone here unable to work due to their moods with the BPD? And maybe in combination with other disabilities?

I am really terrified to even look for a job because the BPD and other conditions made me stop working a job I had for 19 years. I feel now like I am worthless....and don't even have motivation to search for a job.

Although, last night I did look at my resume that I haven't looked at in 2 years and found a glimmer of hope that I could possibly find a job in a less hostile environment.

But, then I wonder...was I the one making the environment hostile.

Yes but I have been looking, no one has given me an interview probably because I have no work history.

I am unable to work right now , due to how BPD affects me. I'm low functioning and constantly depressed

I've been looking for work. Between my illness', weight and lack of experience, I just can't find nothing. Had an interview yesterday but I don't believe I got the job. It was even part time too

Me too...I just sometimes wonder if I lean too hard on my BPD excuse. I haven't worked in 2 years.

I have experience..but I hated my job and the people.
I sometimes wonder if I am using my BPD as an excuse..which is why I asked if others are not working as well.

That has to be hard to be looking and then being turned down without giving you a chance.
Thanks for this!

I've worked twice my entire life. I worked as a receptionist in hs, and a tutor in college. So it's been 9 years since I've worked. But it's more than just the BPD holding me back. It's mostly the depression and social anxiety.

I have had over 30 different jobs and I quit them due to bipolar. I've never wondered if bpd had anything to do with it as I ignored the dx for so long. I'm seeking disability. After almost three years I have a court date next month.

I also have applied for disability. How do you financially live waiting 3 years! IM on year 2...and wondering if I am going to be forced to find employment cause I don't know how I will survive with no income..I am already draining a retirement fund and having to pay tax penalties on top of that!

I stopped working three years ago due to my manic symptoms and depression, along with severe agoraphobia. I'm in therapy, and on several medications and feel almost ready to try working again. At the moment I'm on disability.

I've decided recently to take the stress of work out of my life equation and apply for disability. There were too many triggers at work making me worse, not better. (Commission, deadlines, expectations)

My Dr's were so happy I made that decision. As is my family and myself.
