Don't think I'm going to be able to afford therapy for a while. Was looking at CBT and DBT Books online but figured this was a good place for advice. If you could tell me the name of the book and link it and tell me why you thought it was helpful, that would be great. Thanks.

I'm looking for exercises. Not an explanation or training manual. Not knocking your suggestion - just wondering which one you think would meet my needs.

I am just now familiarizing myself with DBT. This link is for "Handbook in DBT Group". It has worksheets, 94 pages, and it's free. I was reading through it today, some exercises may need a little guidance, but, it doesn't cost anything and it seems helpful...at least for me. |

go to amazon and search for The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook. it has a green cover and is by Matthew McKay and Jeffrey C Wood. it should be $11. (I'm too new to post a link lol).
this book is p amazing imo. it has the four basic principles of DBT then goes in to more advanced practices then it combines the principles together in the last chapter. it has worksheets and explains everything really well. i don't want to sound dramatic but i'm dramatic so

Hi Nana!
Welcome to Psych Central! I'm rather new in these parts as well, and I am still trying to figure out how to use the features on this forum! I'm also noticing that when you change the Forum appearance certain functions function differently. Hmmmm... ![]() Ha!!! ![]() |
