I feel my impulsive urges coming back with tremendous force especially regarding hurting myself. I don't know right now if it's
Possible trigger:
I am struggling very much to control them and while I haven't acted on the impulses I am growing more weary of containing the urges. I hope these frequent urges pass soon.

Thanks for this!

How are you managing them at the moment - as in what do you do to keep them from overwhelming you
Thanks for this!

Zone out online or just keep some kind of background noise on(tv, music), when I can I sleep but that's not always workable depending on intensity of urges.

Thanks for this!

Write until it all comes out - morbid or not doesn't matter. All my poems used to be severely morbid.

If that doesn't work though ... have you tried exercising or any kind or relaxation techniques (many out there) or essential oils?
Thanks for this!

Not exercising want to but haven't yet. Tried some relaxation but it's not worked I'll keep looking for more see if a few stick. Never tried essential oils...but not working so it would be tough right now. I keep trying to write, we'll see how that goes.

Exercise would be the best for me, it would get the pent up emotional energy out. However, that requires a s**t tonne of motivation for me and i do not have it right now.

Thanks for thriwing some ideas out there.

This is a first for me - but am putting it out there - to OP.

OP - whatever you're feeling - do the polar opposite. It sounds weird but this is the only way to get you back to balance.
Thanks for this!

You should maybe give it a try anyway - push yourself the first few times. Exercise has a way of providing its own energy and it produces hormones in the brain that are the same as used in anti-depressants. So it is a naturally healing thing as much as it is a relaxation or distraction.

You're welcome

How do you do the polar opposite of what you are feeling? Like, I feel I am exploding of anger, what do I do?
Or you mean, if I feel I need to SI I do the opposite - like, instead of hurting myself, I will do something self loving? But sometimes the emotions just want to burst...I usually repress a lot

Repression is never good.

Took me a long time to unlearn. Did it through writing .. and then letting others see what I wrote.

Subtle lights...I also repress emotion and have since I was pretty young. I'm not sure how to unlearn that but if you find a way let me know. It probably contributes a lot to my urges.
