After i had an operation to see if all of the pain was endometriosis, i seemed to be free of pain, and i thought "finally!"
But sure enough, all good things come to an end. I started having the worst pains i have EVER EVER experienced, and i really dont know what to do about it!
I take codiene for the pain, but its not working anymore, im sure that after a year of being on them, i have become immune to them.
I take 12 codiene pills a day, (limit is 8, doctor told me to take more because not working) my anti-depressants, iron suppliments (im anemic), and some other pills like pro-biotics because my body is getting so much yuck pills in it and its stuffing me up.

Sometimes i take even more pills to try and make myself go numb. I drink alcohol (i know i shouldnt on codiene) excessively to make the pain go away. I would try ANYTHING to feel normal.
I recently broke my wrist, and had to endure through all of that pain also because funnily enough, PAIN KILLERS DONT WORK ANYMORE!

I dont know what to do and im really stuggling to cope, im getting to the point where i just want to give up. i really really am.

I cannot believe your doctor gave you Codeine!!! You might as well take Aspirin!! It works about as well. Since it doesn't look like your doc is going to give you anything stronger, I'd suggest asking your doc to refer you to pain management. There, they can give you many more options for pain relief.
Ask your doc for a referral -- you won't be disappointed, unless the clinic near you doesn't prescribed medications. Some of them are going that way unfortunately. Give it a try anyway - and see what happens. God bless. Hugs, lee

Sounds like you could be experiencing rebound pain now. Yeah, I wonder too if the doctor is taking you seriously.

Try weaning yourself off the meds. SLOWLY, since you're in pain anyway... find other modalities to use while you do that, to fill in the gap. (Ice heat water therapy, stretching, exercise, modified food diet, aromatherapy, acupunture etc. ... there are tons of things to try.

I have chronic pain that my med does manage well...however, when the verterbrae chews into the sciatic nerve, that pain med does nothing for it...not even at doses I can't keep my eyes open with (so I don't increase it any) but treat the increased pain specifically by other means....

Good wishes. Keep us all apprised of what you decide, and if you need more support ...
