Hi there,

Went for an emg today to test nerve function in my right leg and it was completely normal. The plain film xray of my spine showed no arthiritis. I'm glad, but..........!@@$$%^$###

The neurologist said "you don't want this to be fibro huh". Nope I didn't - that means nothing they can do!

Arg - I told him I accepted the fibro a month or so ago but when this hip thing started getting worse and it was only on one side, I was convinced it wasn't fibro and they would be able to fix it.

Ah well, back to hypnotherapy!

Thanks Bebop - I called my orthopedist last Thursday and left a message w/the secretary to find out if I can have an MRI (my left knee is artificial). I remember him saying I could, but the specialist is afraid since he doesn't know what materials were used.

Never heard back from their office so I called again today. The secretary again didn't pick up her phone, so this time I bounced out to the reception area and told them I needed an answer before my apt. this afternoon.

The girl came back and said the secretary had to check with the doc who was in surgery all morning - so I said yes, but I called last Thursday morning #*^%(&#$! Wasn't her fault. So she said don't schedule one today.

Now I don't go back to the specialist for 5 weeks so I guess I just see how it goes between now and then. I don't know - I hate to keep having my insurance pay for all the expensive tests if it's going to be a waste - I just really want to be able to walk like a normal person again Test is normal

Thanks for responding -

Untranquility

Thanks Freewill! I just posted about my hynotherapy appointment in the psychotherapy forum. It does help with relaxing me and helps a bit with pain - even if it's temporary at this point.

The orthopod's office finally called back last night and said that I can have an MRI. I have been debating about calling the fibro doc. back to tell him, but after seeing my chiro. and the hypnotherapist tonight, they both agreed they don't think it's fibro. and urged me to have the MRI.

So I will call tomorrow to see if I can have this one last test scheduled. If it comes out "fine" I will officially give up and just assume that, as weird as it would be, my hip pain is due to the fibro which means no treatment.

tran I know what you mean. it does get expensive but remember we do pay those high insurance rates! that is what they are for hon. maybe call the surgeons office that did your knee replacement and find out what it was made of. usually they know by the yr you had it done. I know they did with the staple they put in my gallbladder. good luck
