I have Tringiminal Neuralgia and some days cant stand the pain have to stay in bed. Also the pain goes into my head and hurts my eyes. It makes me sad that have to be careful when am around my daughter and family. Also watch what I eat, not to go out into the wind and how I talk to people either face to face or on the phone so dont have an attack and get very irritable.

Hi SweetAngel,

Sorry to hear you have TN. I have it also, but I have it in a different nerve branch than you do (V2). I feel for you. I imagine you are taking medications for it? I take Topamax currently, which has been helpful for me. I've taken other medications in the past, too.

You may already know this, but the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association is also a good source of support (they have a website online).

My thoughts are with you; it's a tough condition to be living with. Take good care of you....

Thinking of you,
ErinBear

Hi SweetAngel,

I feel for you - sorry you have to deal with this, and are having such a rough time of it. That's a lot of medication to be dealing with, too. Have your neurologists suggested surgery of any kind to you? I'm not a surgical candidate, but I've met others who have had successful surgery and were helped by it.

Same here - if you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to PM me.

Take care,
ErinBear

I know about the pain of the trigeminal nerve, because
I too experience pain in one side of my face, and it's been
making one of my eyes hurt a lot these last few days.
But I try to keep my self settled, try to keep undisturbed, and
sometimes that helps a bit.
I do hope that you find something helpful because I know how much it can hurt.

Dear Rose3,

I'm sorry to hear that you, too, deal with trigeminal neuralgia. It's a tough thing to manage, and it's an uncommon health issue so not too many people are familiar with it. My thoughts go out to you. Feel free to email me, too, if you wish. Thinking of you and sending caring thoughts your way....
Take care,
ErinBear
