Dogtanian, I saw that in your post in bi-polar where the hat tip didn't work. It seems to be some glitch that if you edit a post after originally posting it, the smilies won't show up.

If you edit your post after you submit it, smiles won't work....if you want smiles in them after you enter edit mode, your best bet is to copy the post, delete it, then create a new post so the smiles will show up.
Hope this helps in the future... Hugz and Love, Jenn

yeah but DocJohn asked us to try not to do that... guess it takes up lots of space? We have to try and remember HOW to do it all right the first time. Who ME???

I think what I remember wanting to say was:
"Use the preview function, that's what it's there for!" If you're uncertain or need to re-read your post and have included smilies or what-not in the post, you'll be better off using the preview function to make sure you got it right. There's a known bug in the software that sometimes causes smilies not to show up right if you go and edit a post. Hopefully it'll be fixed in a future version. Best, DocJohn

One workaround for this bug which works for me (but may not work for you, who knows??!)...
When you go and edit your post, make sure you check the checkbox that says you want to preview your post. It seems that when you preview your post after editing it, it will retain all of the correct UBB code and stuff. (If you forget to check this box, just go back and edit your post again!) DocJohn

Okay. I'm really working on not putting words into another's mouth... here is what was said back in 9/04 when I was discussing the edit problem..
</font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font> Sky, thanks for posting repeatedly about this issue. My suggestion to you in the short term is not to edit your posts so much, or use preview first before making a posting. In the long-term, I will look into fixing this problem, thanks! </div></font></blockquote><font class="post">
