I've looked all over for site support to determine what I did, as I cannot access chat. I have seen a volunteer manager tell a chatter in support that he would block them and apparently that is a tool for dealing with "problems" which I can accept.

The same volunteer manager himself spends some time talking denigratively about therapists. On the night before I was to go to one that was particularly triggering, so I took a risk and said something about it, apologizing if it seemed like an attack (just in case it did).

I didn't get an I'll block you warning. I went to my session, came back, had some other triggering things happen today that make me feel so sad and so worthless - and so I thought to go to the support chat with the objective of perhaps saying some supportive things to other people - not even talking about these things that are going on.

Chat shows as having people in it, but I cannot access it. If I did something wrong I can accept that and not do it again. But it would help to know what it was!

But I really, very much needed some constructive interaction today and I can't get in. If I was wrong, then I apologize right here and now.

If the system is just down, I apologize for being over-reactive. I looked hard for a "help" section - in contact us, and throughout the site - before posting here.

I hope what has happened is some site maintenance on chat.

Hello, Wallowa. I just now accessed chat. Perhaps you might talk to an administrator or moderator. Go to the bottom of the New Members Introduction page and message one of them with your concerns.

Sorry that happened to you Wallowa...that isn't an easy place to be in...

I sent your post to wanttoheal, and she will look into it for you, and I sent a whisper to another mod, so you should know something soon. I hope that you are holding up.

You can always come back here and post and someone will answer you. I hope that you will find out soon what happened and that all things will be adjusted for you.

If you need anything, just pm me. I will get back to you.

If a member is restricted in something they can do in the community, they will be formally notified via a private message (PM). You do not get privileges revoked here for no reason or with no notification.

Our logs show that you accessed the chat rooms last night, so apparently you found a fix for the problem you were experiencing?

Members can only kick out other members from their own personally-created chat rooms in chat. Only a member of the community team -- a moderator or administrator -- can ban a person from the chat system altogether. And they would never do that without notification and discussion amongst the entire team.

You are a member in good standing and there's no indication of any issues on our side, so you may want to review the technical support forum here, searching on chat, and see if any of those solutions work for you. The first thing you should try if this problem persists is to try the "No Popup Chat" option in the Chat menu at the top of the screen.

DocJohn

Thanks. Jewels and wanttoheal gave me a couple tech solutions to try. There is a java plug in fix for Firefox that involves installing and uninstalling the browser. It had worked fine the day before, but computers work in mysterious ways, especially after updates. So I thought I'd check to see if I'd done something to get myself kicked out.

Glad I have not.

Wallowa...I'm so glad the fix was an easy one!!!

Keep up the good work, you are a patient person and was relieved to know that it was one that you could do yourself. Remember to always ask the moderators and administrators in cases like this if you think you have been blocked from using the chat rooms...because they are the only ones that can block you from the chats...

And remember what DocJohn said about you receiving warnings before you would have been blocked...

Hope to meet you later when you are in chat!
