Because of excessive (((((((((((((( or other "words/symbols" without spaces. For example, if someone uses a bunch of (((((( for their hug it will stretch the screen to fit it all in as there is no spaces. Same goes for grrrrrrs, ......., and long website addys.

Hope that helps. Yet another!! Some REAL answers, please!

Yeah, I know that will do it, but the post *I* think started it didn't have those excessive marks. There a sevel forums where that's happening. Could it be the word processor one uses to type up the post and then copy and paste??

Bear in mind that I've been without my meds for about a month... but why can't people check their posts to see how they show?????? They can be EDITED if it causes problems! GEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZ!

Which forums are you referring to? I don't see any problems, perhaps it is your computer? Have you tried restarting?

It was happening to me too. The only thing I could figure out were the excessive characters with no spaces.

I didn't see the post in question, so I don't know what else it could be.

When they use excessive letters in the subject line, will it do that to the page? Yet another!! Some REAL answers, please!

I don't know about the subject line... but I know that I didn't realize what people were talking about last week because I use the option to not view people's signatures.

Or, the original poster that started a thread with a long subject line could ask a moderator in the forum to edit the subject.

It might also depend on the resolution you have your screen set to. I think mine is set to 1024 x 768 If yours is set smaller like 800 x 600 your images and text will be larger but you won't have as much room horizontally for text.

I've had subject lines in posts (mainly in kudos for BIG hugs Yet another!! Some REAL answers, please! ) that have stretched that forum on my screen until the thread has eventually gone down the list and off the page. In that case, it shouldn't impact threads viewed individually, but rather the entire list of threads in that forum.

Most of the time posts get strrrrrrrrrrrrrretched because of long links. There is a website that will make links smaller and easier for people to navigate. It's called www.tinylink.com. (Just a fyi Yet another!! Some REAL answers, please! )

You can also use the URL option to give a name to the link instead of posting the full URL here in the forums. To do that, click "Preview Reply", then look for the options called Instant UBB code.
Yet another!! Some REAL answers, please!
Click the "URL" option and it should be self-explanatory from there.

Once you do that, you can have a link that looks like this:
Psych Central
instead of:
http://forums.psychcentral.com

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
