I think it should say in the description line this is a scheduled chat.

In my chat it says "hosted chat"... I've seen that in a few of them.

But some similar indication makes sense, yes.

we used to call them "Support Chats" and people got the idea that they were something different than the usual. but i agree, the fewer orientation questions that have to be answered for every newcomer, the better~

also, tho most of the chats have a topic, and present ideas or information about that topic, sometimes it's good to just have an open support chat, about what the members have on their minds.

thank you all who put in your time, preparing and focusing on helping and supporting other members in this way~

Ah, yeah there is one of those.
It is a perpetual room built into the chat module. It is called SUPPORT CHAT, I believe [it may actually be something very similar instead].

uh, just to stay on topic, i believe we were talking about official, Chat Leader Hosted Chats, not some room.

what i must have failed to say CLEARLY is that some nites it is good to just have the regulars to a Hosted Chat be able to air themselves out, let the leader know what has been particularly helpful, what they are still struggling with, or share their own stories with each other, IF that hasn't been happening regularly, already~

You were not very explicit,

...and this is really something for individual chat leaders to decide about each chat that they host, so I assumed you were making a commentary/suggestion in a general sense, not in a more specific sense.

Since each chat is a different topic and format, it doesn't follow that every chat could benefit for such a change or addtion in structure if it is not already present. Also, an hour isn't very long so one kind of has to "pick your battles" in a sense, choose some things over other with in that hour...
So my brain kind of skipped over all that to the chat module at large when responding.
Does that make sense?

I agree with Josie. Regarding chats: one size doesn't fit all and the chat leaders have the opportunity to set up the chat in a way that fits the purpose of their chat.
