haha... nice pun in the title, huh?
I'm new to mental health forums, and have some questions about abbreviations that I've seen. IP? There is a thread here that is titled Considering IP again. What is IP? I've seen some others in bipolar specific threads. tdoc? Is this your therapist? pdoc? Is this your psychologist? psychiatrist? What would your family medicine/md be called? Is there a glossary somewhere that would help me? |

IP - in patient OP - original post and/or poster, or possible outpatient, depending on context pdoc - psychiatrist or anyone who prescribes psych meds t - therapist or therapy gp - general practioner - but the British folk use a lot of different names Idk - I dont know about a chart - my search doesnt work on my phone. Hope this helped! |

Hi,
I know most of your examples were answered ... there are also these two threads which add to the abbreviations/acronyms list and also include "chat" talk http://forums.psychcentral.com/commu...uggestion.html http://forums.psychcentral.com/commu...chat-idea.html |

Don't feel bad... IRL "ED" is NOT eating disorder, like it is here. Took me a bit of confusion to figure that one out
