I have an issue I need to discuss, but I don't want to do so publicly, and if I did, my posts would probably be taken down anyway. I PM'd a mod a couple of days ago about this issue, and haven't had an answer. On another site, where I am a moderator myself, we have a Member Services Center where members with a problem can make posts, and it's seen only by themselves and staff. Is there such an avenue here?

I hope the members at the site where I'm a moderator never feel ignored like this.

I would suggest you PM the admin, DocJohn. Give him some time to respond as this is a holiday weekend.

Lovebird, it may take time for the team to discuss something you pm'ed a team member about so that we are directing you in the best way possible. It's not that we are ignoring you, it's that we are in the middle of discussing it.

We are all volunteers and here at different times of day/night. It can take some time for us to get on the same page.

Also, as Yoda stated, this is a holiday weekend for many. Your post here in this forum was posted at 12:30AM Eastern Time. Many of our team members are in the Eastern Time section of the country.

So the answer is, no, we do not have such a forum. If you need to discuss something privately with the community moderation team, please just choose a few active team members to PM at the same time. One will answer you regarding your concern.

I'm sorry you had to wait over 6 hours for your response. We're a free community -- no charge to you, no ads shown to you -- and our community moderation team is made up all of volunteers. You posted during a time where most of us are sleeping. Being a 6+ year member here, I'm sorry you had to wait this length of time.

DocJohn

I obviously don't know what eta is normal but an observation in general and specifically. The internet seems to give people more permission to wait a very long time to respond and in a group of extra sensitive people... When it isn't obligatory it is more permissible but it seems like a trend with businesses too. Even with companies with great reputations I have had this happen. They don't know what to say so the don't. If you were in a crowded room helping other or just involved in a task you would at least acknowledge the person wouldn't you? I did get that once. A simple "I heard you" without violating any of your rules. It means a lot.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
