Would it be possible for members to disable the hug feature on their posts? Folks have posted that they don't like hugs and would like to be able to disable them.

BTW, I'm not one of those folks. I love getting hugs.

No, there is no way to disable hugs and we have no development plans to enable this in the future, sorry.

I'm actually feeling bad now for all the folks being subjected to virtual squishy hugs against their will. I'm sorry if I've hugged any of you and added to your discomfort!

I also know, I'm not going to be able to remember who likes hugs, who tolerates them, and who really hates them...

I wonder... if you don't want hugs... would it be worth adding just a small note or symbol to your signature, so others know and can avoid it? I'm picturing a tiny picture of a red circle with a slash across it, then maybe next to that something like, "No hugs please!". (I was looking at pictures that have the circle/slash with the word "hugs" in the middle, but I think that would be hard to do small enough to fit in a signature, and still be readable).

I'm not a graphic artist... I'm trying in MS Paint, but my circles look pretty raggedy! Anyone else want to take a stab at one?

(Oh and I ****love**** cookies, but really am trying to get my health stuff under control and am avoiding gluten, so definitely not the best for me! Especially if I'm already stressed/hurting, pics of yummy delicious cookies are going to send me straight out the door looking for some real ones!!! )

Title could work too! I'm on a regular, old-school desktop - so not sure what is visible on phones/tablets. Good idea, thanks!

This forum looks great on the Safari browser on this iPad. You can zoom in if need be. How about a "Like" button instead?

Well......I am a bad one at giving hugs.....if I knew that the poster had an aversion to them.....I would NOT do it. So I guess I have to assume that the poster does like a virtual hug. If I have hugged you and it was not appreciated.....I can only apologize.

I also love getting hugs, being that I don't get enough IRL at all.

I only wish I could disable how many hugs I've received in my statistics. Only received less than 1/3 of what I've given out, and that looks like nobody loves me or something. I mean it could just be visible to ME, not everyone else. Plus, the hugs button wasn't even there when I joined in 2008, so I might have gotten more if the button was available then.

Thanks for trying though, Liz.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
