Is it possible to delete a post and subsequent quotations of said post? I've posted something, had it quoted on a response that upset me and now wish for people to not know what I said originally.
Thanks for this!

Yeah I think you can PM an Admin or Mod and request for them to remove it.

The absolute best way to get any edit or removal done is to use the "report post" icon (lower left of each post). This is a report that goes to the Community Support Team and whoever has powers in that particular forum that is online can then take care of the issue.

Well, I ended up not deleting that thread and just blocked the person for the time being.

But is it really true that I could just report a post and only have a quotation removed? And not the post itself? Because I do know how to delete my posts themselves. I just didn't realize you could have quotations of your post removed from other posts.

It's beyond me why anyone would want to be so controlling and oppressive as to want to modify someone else's posts when they aren't even a moderator or admin.

maybe this will help ...imagine you posted something. then you decided to have your own post removed. before you get it removed someone quoted your post that you do not want on the boards....

me ....bla bla bla bla

I get of the computer and then have second thoughts about my post..

I go back online and delete my post by using edit and using the word "deleted" as the post

my post now shows as a one word post ....deleted

but down underneath my post is your reply to me

post by amandaloise bla bla bla in quote box and underneath that your reply.

I have deleted my original post because I didnt like what I had posted but now what I have posted and have deleted now appears in your post as a qoute. I dont want to change your reply just delete my post that is quoted in your reply.

my point I think this is what the original poster is asking about...

whether their own post can be removed\changed from being quoted after their original post has been edited or deleted.

i dont think its about being controlling and oppressive. just a matter of wanting their own post that they want removed to also be removed from the quotes when they delete their own post.

@amandalouise

That's exactly what I was trying to explain. I'm glad someone understands.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
