I do not wish to offend, but this has been a question I've contemplated for sometime. Why do some members use the largest, boldest font for their signatures?

Personally, I find it cumbersome to scroll so far (a page!) to get to the next post in a forum thread. The signatures are difficult to read b/c only a word or two per line is hard to read intelligently. One says "Take it" On one line as a portion of their signature, which is a terrible trigger to me by itself. Upon reading further, it is benign. But that is all I see until or unless I scroll down.

Anyway, I'm just curious of the intention of those who do that. Hence, my question.

If anyone could shed some light on the purpose of the huge text of some signatures, I would like to understand.

Thanks!

IDK. I hate siggys altogether. I don't understand the point in overloading a server with the same data over and over, or the brain with the same text over and over.

I don't have a good explanation to why I even have a pic siggy, LOL.

Seems I could not change the font on the rest of my thread post! Sorry!

I only use a signature to explain that the word "Save" is not my signature!

I use my iPhone and it's incredibly frustrating.
Plus on posts that have multiples these long big font signatures use up all the space.
I vote no on them.

I use my sig to express my individuality, and as far as I am concerned, I try and keep it from being obnoxiously long/huge. I do hope I'm not offending anyone with it.

If you prefer to not see huge signatures why not change your settings so you don't see them at all?I like seeing all of them, even the huge ones,I enjoy all the individuality, but if they bugged me I would prob. just change my settings instead of letting them bug me.
Thanks for this!

It does get annoying, especially since some of them are obnoxiously colorful and seems to draw you into their cliche lines....

Oh well, I guess we should tolerate others. I mean, apparently, you can WHINE AWAY, things you do not like, but I myself prefer to live and let live.

Usually on boards there is a rule that signature should not take more than the whole screen and should not be too flashy.

I'm not sure there's a rational answer that would satisfy the OP's question, and it kind of feels like we're singling out members who take advantage of all of the style options we offer for signatures and posts. If we didn't want members to have these options, we wouldn't offer them.

Signatures are a personal preference. If you prefer not to be bothered by them, simply set that option in your option settings to not see other people's signatures.

I like to see signatures, just not one huge word at a time and not taking up a full page for 10 words! But thanks anyway!

Love your siggy! Was curious about the big lettered, one word per line siggies.
Thanks for this!

Hi venuss,

I am tolerant, but just curious, as I stated in my original post. I like your signature!

my thoughts on this..

I think everyone should be able to do what they want within reason- as long as it's not offensive or breaking the rules

I also think though, some of these signatures are soooo sooooo long!, and though i'm bothered by some of them, I don't go round the members and say hey.... you can't do that, you need to shorten that- I am not the forum police. lol.

I personally don't use a signiture at all

never felt the need
Thanks for this!
