I have come to accept that it will take in excess of 20 minutes to buffer a 2 minute video to watch. One reason I try not to use youtube as it makes my blood boil.
But the latest issue I have been having is so frustrating .......... I cannot get past a few seconds of "buffering" when it shows me to REPLAY. I just cannot get the entire video to buffer ......... or download .......... or whatever it does. I did some trouble shooting on youtube but all it said was to clean my already cleaner than clean cache. Any suggestions why I can't get an entire video to buffer so I can watch more than 20 seconds?

How do you clean your cache? There are several, do you know that? Just pushing the button on Explorer won't do it.

You might try right clicking on a video while it is doing its thing and choose settings and then the "file folder" at the bottom with the green arrow going into it? and see how much space you're allowing them to store stuff on your disk; that might not be high enough. Mine is set at 100kb and is fine.
You got the latest version of Adobe Flash player? 9.0 I think it is? That's what I have: http://www.macromedia.com/support/do...lp/help02.html

Clearing your history and temporary files still might not be giving you enough memory with which to work.
You need to increase the allotment you have given your comuputer for those types of files. For Windows( I have xp) Click START Click CONTROL PANEL click SYSTEM click ADVANCED click PERFORMANCE OPTIONS/SETTINGS then click on VIRTUAL MEMORY setting of find that... and increase the amount of memory you have set for the computer to store and use. Make sure you CLICK APPLY! good wishes PS you might also wish to change (at the same page) the computer to run with PERFORMANCE as it's primary process.

Thanks everyone.
I am running on broadband. I have a program called Internet Sweeper Pro that I use to clean my cache along with the usual Explorer way. I also use Ad-Aware. My virtual memory is set at its maximum. I checked the settings like you suggested Perna and mine is also set at 100kb with 3kb currently used by me. I changed it to 1MB - I'll see if that makes a difference. My flash player is running fine. What about saving a video to my computer to play later - can I do that?

I don't think so. You can play it or not is all. You can certainly keep the URL and literally play it later but you can't have it buffer and then play later, if that's what you mean?
Software can't really clean all your various caches totally. You have all sorts of cookies all over the place that need cleaning by hand. Go to "My Computer"/Local Disk/Documents and Settings and make sure "Administrator" Cookies, "Default User" Cookies and "your own" (whatever your name is/what you've named your spot on the computer) Cookie bins are empty. You don't have to get rid of the index.dat or, if it's there, your desktop.ini files, just the cookies. For example, I just deleted 463 cookies and I clean regularly. If they aren't doing any "harm" your software isn't going to care about them but they'll mount up and make your software run slower.

You might have too many processes running on your computer for it's capability?
You have your memory set for maximum? maybe it needs some for doing other stuff?? IDK I have 83000 MB available but wouldn't assign that much. I allow 2MB max for my RAM. And my computer is set to prioritize for running programs.
