Ok, this is what I do: 1) I set up a free account at postimages.org I upload the picture I want to post: Under the menu window that says "Hotlinks for forums" I copy and paste that into the message window and select submit. Viola!!! Let me know if you get stuck anywhere! Landon AKA HappyCrafter __________________ "Love you. Take care of you. Be true to you. You are the only you, you will ever know the best. We host images here too, of course, but you have to use the full editor (not quick reply) to do it.
On the full editor screen, click on the button that says "Manage Attachments" underneath the post editing area (under "Additional Options"). Choose the image you'd like to upload from your computer using the Browse button. Then click the Upload button. Then you'll see that image appear under the heading, "Current Attachments." If you right-click on the link, you should see a browser menu pop-up that gives you one option to "Copy Link Location." Choose that. Close the attachments window. Now in the body of your post, you can reference the image you just attached to your post in the post itself using the {img} shortcode: I'm using curly brackets so you can see how it looks. But for this to work, like any shortcode, you should use regular straight brackets: {img}https://psychcentralforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=10517&stc=1&d=1569345322{/img} Ta da! __________________ Don't throw away your shot. |

THAT'S how those little windows appear. I was wondering about that.
Thank You! You taught me something new! __________________ "Love you. Take care of you. Be true to you. You are the only you, you will ever know the best. Reach for YOUR stars. I tried it again and this time when I clicked to upload the attachment it said Upload Error.
I'm tired of playing with this. I'm tired of wandering around this thread trying to figure out how to do something that all the rest of you are doing and I'm the only one who can't do it. It should'nt be this hard. Other board allow you to simply copy and paste an image and I'm not gonna make myself miserable trying to figure this out. I came here to have fun and be a part of the community and relax but it is impossible to post pics here and everyone else can do it and I'm tired. |

To me, you sound overwhelmed and frustrated. Did you try the method I use? It is simpler, in my opinion. Maybe try it another time? __________________ "Love you. Take care of you. Be true to you. For most images in google you don't need to host to post them, just right click, copy image address, then paste it in the little address box that comes up when you click the image icon (yellow box with mountains) deleting the http:// first of course.
I'm using chrome, so that's at least how it all works for me. Hope that helps someone. Last edited by lightly toasted; Sep 24, 2019 at 09:38 PM.. |

I tried what you wrote, and the copy-paste part worked just fine. It got me a thumbnail in the post. But it wouldn't accept the post, because it wanted me to write something in the body of the post. The thumbnail attachment wasn't enough to suit it. That is what frustrated me so much -- other people aren't required to post words . They just post images. I am ordinarily very good at computer stuff so I get SERIOUSLY frustrated when a certain site won't let me do something that other sites do. I love figuring computers out, but when I read directions that are incomplete, or misleading, then I get really frustrated. It is hard for me to give up and admit defeat, so I just walk away. |

That's really odd and I can understand why you'd be so frustrated
I'm on a chromebook too, and with the method I posted above, I'm allowed the full image and I don't need to add any text. Hmmmm *scratches head* I wonder if I've left out something in my directions? ETA Ok, so I posted an image in my next post, but before I did I typed every single little step in took to do so in that post. I hope it helps |

1. Find image you like with google images
2. Right click image 3. Click on copy image address 4. Click on Image Icon (yellow box with mountains) 5. Delete http:// from the icon address window 6. press ctrl 'V' to paste to address window 7. click blue OK button in the icon address window 9. Click 'post reply' or 'post quick reply' |
