I have a question and I hope that someone will be able to answer it. I have IE 7.0 and I have a PsychCentral tab on my browser. When I'm using another tab the PC tab will blink red and the error message : "There was a problem with the request (Code 12029)" pops up.

This will also occur if I close IE altogether, all tabs but PC will close the error message will pop up and "about blank" will appear which I have to control+alt+delete to get rid of.

Any idea what's causing this? It started happening a couple of weeks ago I think.

12029 is a common Microsoft code; sounds like something in the PC code is getting confused (your cookie handling or "event validation") when you change windows/tabs. I'd send it all in a PM to DocJohn, see what he can "do"/says.

I've been using IE7 for a number of months now without issue. But my friend totally refurbished my computer after it died, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

I didn't/don't have any trouble at all with IE 7. But I don't have Vista which I think can be a problem with some programs. I think AAAAA's problem is with PC coding not being modern enough somewhere so A's setup is a bit too "advanced" in some aspect. It's complicated to figure out though, such a common error message and so many things it could be. It just essentially says, "can't get there from here" :-)

I don't have Vista on this computer. I think I do have IE7 on the other one, with Vista though Problem with PC tab on IE 7 Hmmm thanks! Maybe it's not the router that is the issue (as I keep changing it to g to be compatible, new one is n) but the IE7 interference??? Sigh, sorry... worth a try for me!

Raynaadi, what kind of usage do you incur on your computer? Or what types of things have you NOT tried with IE7? Problem with PC tab on IE 7

Thanks for the info, and just to be clear, I do not have Vista (TG!!!) If I click the "X" to close all tabs everything but the PC tab will close and I'll get the error message and will have to close again.

And it the red blinking thing also happens (PC saying that I'm neglecting it I think!) with the same message.

It's only been happening for about a month or so now. Prior to that I've used IE 7 without issue. It was right around the time that "answers" was added to PC, so I was wondering if it was a server thing.

Sorry Sky, didn't see your question. I use my computer to pay bills online, PC, email, and my son attends a virtual school online, so we generally use this computer for submitting assignments and his for attending classes and doing research.

The problem seems to have solved itself. I'd like to say that I did something to fix it, but it hasn't happened in a couple of days so I have no idea why it started or why it stopped.

Thanks again for the advice.
