this might be the wrong answer okie, but, ethernet plugs are larger than phone plugs... are you trying to plug the ethernet plug into the phone jack? it wont fit...

find the ethernet plug on the computer and plug the router in there?

sorry if im way off....

Sounds like they sent you an ethernet cable. Wireless Router Trouble Do you have any other telephone cable to use? I buy them at the dollar store..make sure it's as short as you can get by with, as the longer they are the more loss of signal.

Are you sure they haven't sent 2 cables, one for ethernet connection and one for telephone?

Can you plug the phone in first and then the router "on top" of that next to it? I have 3 plugs in the back of my desktop and it's complicated knowing what goes where. Not like the writing or symbols or angle of attack are very large either LOL.

(((((okie))))) don't get upset, we will work it out between us all

our table is a nest of wires, lolol, we know about wiring these things up

we had heaps of trouble with broadband before we found the ethernet ports, if your daughter's computer doesn't have one you can get an adaptor to plug through a USB port.
