Have had a hard week. Have felt really overwhelmed and on the edge. Didn't know how I was going to get through the week, almost scared to breathe, worried that 1 more small thing would tip me over that edge.

Today, I have spent hours listening to the same track on a CD full blast. Music seems to be one way of pulling me out of that dark hole.

Feeling better now and realised that I had probably been triggered by something. But at the time I can't see through what I am feeling at those times, it seems to be an eternal reality that will never end.

And of course, it does always pass. If only I could remember and believe that at the time.

Does anyone else struggle with this?

YES! I'm in the same boat right now. SO on edge. June is usually a hard month for me but this time it seems twice as bad. I know what my triggers are but I can't get a grip on them. It's scary really.

It's such a horrible feeling. Before I get dragged into it, I try to use mindfulness stuff and ask myself it's just a feeling, what's so bad about that? But I can't put it into words, it just IS!

Sorry you are going through this too at the moment.

I struggle greatly with this.

It's so sneaky and clips my feet out from under me before I can wrap my mind around what has happened.

Hopefully we will learn better skills to catch it and recover quicker!!

I'm there with you!

It gets so bad you can't even stand yourself, nothings good, no one is good, it will never get better, it's a waste of time, suck it up buttercup. It can pull you so close to giving up but at some point you slowly come back to surface.
This is much stronger than mindfulness or grounding can help.

I'm not glad you all feel the same, yet I feel some relief that there are people who really understand what it is like. I'm not sure my T does.

I do think my recovery is quicker these days. It used to last for weeks / months, but maybe now just a few days or more.

Not sure the T's even care. Therapy is just a business transaction. You pay them for a service and they some what provide that. When you expect anything more than that you are just setting yourself up for disappointment. But you are right we do understand the pain and frustration of other members. That I'm thankful for.

Yes, I have felt that lately with starting school again. I feel overwhelmed with the homework and all I want to do is shut down. At least I'm done for the week now so I can decompress. It's hard to go through a whole week like that.

Yes it is hard. But good for you about getting back into school!!!!!! One day at a time, on hour at a time, one minute at a time. Whatever works for you. Take care of you because no one else will.
