Yes,I do believe there's a misunderstanding going on.

PTSD means Post traumatic stress disorder. It's a mental problem that develops after experiencing or witnessing a life threatening event (trauma) diagnosed by a mental health professional and treated with medications and psychotherapy.

I'm not sure why you keep saying it's a disability for sure and you also said in your other thread it's a physical problem that requires a physical solution. It's a mental condition not a physical condition.Maybe you are misunderstanding what PTSD is?

I am sorry that you perceive my opinions as attacks, they are not, they are merely opinions.

What does a cure look like? I'm glad you all don't have the level of ptsd I am talking about. Medication treats the symptoms. Therapy gives you tools to deal with the problems. Both of these require daily effort. I find it interesting and amusing that rather then leaning and expressing empathy , you're all trying to correct me. I thought this was a mental health support forum. I sure hope that some newly diagnosed person doesn't wander in here . Some of us get diagnosed by the social security psychiatrists, I'm thinking we need a different forum. Good for you your psychic injuries aren't that severe. Some of us weren't so fortunate.

Maybe you would receive more empathy and support if you weren't so adamant about what PTSD(or CPTSD) means to you and classifying yourself as having a completely different disorder than anyone else and using derogatory comments and remarks towards us.

We are all here for the same illnesses,PTSD and CPTSD,with varying degrees of impact on each person. We are all sharing our own exoeriences but you keep mocking us for what we say.

It's one thing to speak of your own experiences and another to apply your experiences to everyone else.Just because our experiences differ from yours doesn't mean we don't have true PTSD or severe PTSD or that we don't struggle.

That being said, this feels like beating a dead horse,so I'm out.

What does a cure look like? I'm not looking for empathy and support, I've given up. This is not the place. Im just astounded at the attitudes here. And I'm mocking you? You keep telling me ptsd can be cured. That's cool. Is insulin a cure for diabetes? Or is it a treatment method?

That's absolutely false,I have not once said it can be cured. It can be treated and managed though, big difference in those terms.

Maybe this isn't the place for you if you are looking for members to agree with everything you say and agree that it's a disability for every single person that has it.

You seem to twist words and perceive everything that's said in such a negative way .That's a shame because this place can be so helpful when one is willing to receive.

Find it amusing you are so adverse to the use of the word disability! I don't need support. I've been living with this disorder for a very long time. It's only when it reached critical levels that I learned the full extent of it. You go on with your story and let other people have theirs. Try not to be so aggressive about having to be correct about this issue.
