They are everywhere, in songs by my favourite artists as well

I’m not going to say what my trigger words are

This “Life lesson” has been rammed down my throat by too many abusers including a therapist I paid many freakin ... too much money to,

Trust nobody

Sometimes I wish I was a hard, callous, horrible person .. then I wouldn’t be so hurt by the low “life” in this world

(Not about anyone on pc)

I'm glad you are not a callous horrible person fuzzy. But sorry that you are finding those triggers in songs at the moment. I sometimes listen to classical music and let my imagination run away with me. I focus on animals and try to imagine which animal would go with each piece of music. I am now wondering what music would suit bears. Big hugs.

For me it's easier to deal with triggering words than triggering actions. A long time ago I decided that words are just that, empty utterances that come from people in a nice way or not so nice way. It reflects who they are, not who I am. Remember the old saying about "sticks and stones"? I've found the best defense, for me, with people who use those words is to laugh about it. Especially if they are using the words to get a rise out of me or hurt me. Kind of deflates their agenda.
I'm glad you are a wise and kind bear.

The two musical selections that I often listen too that I have found help me when I get anxious are:

  • Reiki: Zen Meditation, Spa, Healing & Relaxation Music and
  • Zen Garden (Music for Deep Sleep, Meditation, Spa, Healing, Relaxation)
Both are from the Sound Healing Center.

I purchased both of them in MP3 from Amazon. Each were under two dollars, each are about 1 hour long. No words, just music.

If you want to listen to music, but don't want to hear triggering words, these, and others, may be an option.

Good idea and good point.
