Should you wait on the negativity in you and pain and shame and guilt and sadness to disappear before you make the decision to offer something great to this world. I have a creative idea and want to spread it but, it seems as if my suffering and negativity and current chaos would beg me to differ, to wait until I am fully healed...but, this is earth, will we ever be fully healed????? I think not. do you wait on the pain to leave before you act. or do you stare it down in the face and grab its by its lonesome and just go with your ideas and creative inspiration for life anyways!?!?

Hi jazzy,
I'd personally advise you to go with your inspiration! Beautiful works of art (music, paintings, drama, etc.) have been inspired by horrible emotional experiences. Vincent Van Gogh, Billie Holiday, Kurt Cobain, the list goes on and on with those who suffered mental illness and yet created widely loved art & music. There are several members of Psych Central who are terrific artists!! Perhaps letting your emotions free through the creation will ease your suffering. I hope so. Personally, I tend to write poems when I'm feeling suicidal and/or angry. I've also strongly considered writing an autobiography someday. Maybe I will. I wouldn't let my emotions get in the way of creating ~ I would simply use those emotions to get my point across more strongly. ![]()

Jazzy I would take your creativity and run with it. I find difficult feelings and emotions come out in my work and I find it helpful in getting the 'energy out' behind the feelings. In college I was going through some difficult times and other students thought my work was 'cool'. I didn't see it that way I was just using art to help express my anger and frustration while getting my assignements done.
Get to work! (( ![]()

Jazzy,
Hey! I would go for it, for me in those times of chaos and negativity and feeling worthless it is in these times I do my best work rather it be with art or starting an entire program. Doing this great creative project will run those negative thoughts and feeling shame away..... That is one of the many reasons I choose to volunteer to do a chat. When I am feeling down and can't get up thinking about others runs those negative (geebies-what I call them) OFF. GO FOR IT, this world needs more people like YOU, yes YOU! Good Luck but something tells me you don't need luck but giving to you anyway ![]() ![]() oh and nice to meet you!
