I tried to do the old job search again but I don't know if I got anywhere. I phoned about 4 or 3 jobs and some of them were not aviable but they were on the job site. They were probably out of date and one wanted a person to be in southend but I'm in shoebury. But one said I should phone tomorrow to book a appointment. I don't know if I should. I might just be rejected like always. I was in the lounge and the dogs started barking and I got so angry, I started bashing the door. urghhh My elbow and hand hurt after. Luckily, the door wasn't damaged. I feel like my future is hopeless. I might as well be homeless. It's so impossible to get a job but I am trying. I do know a career I want to do either a childcare career or business administration. I'm going to do a course in January but still worried about whether I would get a work placement. Why me? Why do I have to have no job? But all my other friends do. My boyfriend got his job at 22. And I'm 18. Maybe I'm little young to work? I should continue studying. I don't know. I would like to help people with English. I thought of doing lessons online but paid. But I have to be a qualified English teacher. Why am I always the odd one out? should I just wait a year or two until I find a job? Maybe someone is telling me it's not my time to have a job. I don't know. I wasn't meant to be here or to have a job. I'm sorry. Thanks for reading my rubbish.

This may be a useful site to check out. It may be tough jobwise at the moment, but things go round in circles so it will improve at some point - in the meantime going to college sounds a good idea to get the qualifications and skills so when the jobs are there you will be able to go for them. Also volunteering can be great for getting skills - charity shops, schools, animals.. Found this website that may be helpful http://volunteering.org.uk/

I know if can feel you are the only one, particularly if your friends are working, but there are a lot of people without jobs right now, it is just a tough time. I went to University when I was 28 after doing loads of stuff I didn't enjoy, so it's never too late. We put so much emphasis on working and of course it is great to get paid every month - but life can be so much more than work and there are loads of things you can do that don't cost.

Take care happycheeks - Soup

((happycheeks)) - I want to encourage you not to take your lack of finding a job personal. I think its very hard all over many countries to find jobs ATM. This isn't a reflection of YOUR self worth. When I was your age I didn't know what I wanted to do, so you're not the only one...you're finding your way that's all. The great thing is, you're trying. One thing I regret is not getting some guidance - this means going to the education facility you're interested in and take a questionnaire to see what your strengths are and you can also go to a professional job placement agency. Since you love animals maybe you can be an assistant in a veterinary office helping animals.

Now I'm going to give you some tips on how you put yourself down. When I was your age I didn't have strong self esteem and I was shy, even though I was good looking. As I got older I got more confidence and became stronger..... so some of what you're feeling is from being young. I see you often post about putting yourself down and many here reassure you, then you often feel better but its doesn't last long - right? I'm going to share why that is - if we're insecure and feeling down, we crave validation and reassurance which is good to a point. The important thing to remember is - reassurance from others doesn't permanently help us. What really helps us is finally knowing and love ourselves - we are the key to building our own self esteem. Now I understand your mom doesn't help you sometimes and that could be part of the reason.

I have taught my girls how to be strong young women and you also can do this. I didn't have that strength at your age but I gained it on my own and so can you. A persons self worth isn't their job or how great looking they are, its how they're a good person and how a person tries despite hard times. Make an appt with a career counselor and deal with a professional job placement agencies. You have just a much value as anyone else, BUT you need to believe this..... so when you're down you'll be able to soothe yourself. When you have strong self esteem there could be a tornado of bad things happening around but you will remain strong. I'm teaching you what I didn't know at the age of 18. You will find your way and always believe in yourself.

Hey HappyCheeks,

Take it easy ok!! It's hard times for everyone and some jobs are just for Christmas and may only be like 7 hours.... My Mum is 55 years old and got offered (7 hours a week in Halfords) My Mum has worked her whole life until last year when she was made redundant and she is majorly struggling. We have very little money and me not working is not helping matters.

Are you on jobseekers allowance or anything?

Did you look into volunteering?

I don't know. I'm bit young for a job anyway. I just need to relax. It won't help if you say one of your family members got hired because it will make me worse. I'm going to wait for January because I'll be on a course and a work placement. I want to do something in business administration. I feel like I am a bit young.
