No matter what I say here I often get into situations that I'm emotionally not ready for and its causing me a lot of pain within not to mention all the sleepless nights spent trying to figure out why I'm drawn to this place when all I see are heartbroken people trying to move on with their own lives am I really that downtrodden to belong here? Not knowing what my purpose for being here is making me crazy and its affecting me in more ways than one

I think you can best answer that question. I'm glad you're here though. I mean if you want to be here that is

I agree with George H. You're the one who knows what brings you to PC, and what makes you come back ~ despite your stress and confusion.

Have you tried filling out a chart on the positives and negatives of both coming to PC, and not coming to PC? That ought to help you gain a more clear perspective on what you get out of coming here, as well as the consequences. Perhaps the reward is greater than the consequences (I sure hope so!). Maybe you need to stay clear of certain areas on this site.

I hope that you feel better soon. Take care!

I think forums like this can present a lot of heartbreak and struggle, and sometimes that's not what we need. They can also show a lot of courage, wisdom and achievement, but the troubled side of things can seem to override that, depending on where we are on our own journeys.

It can be helpful to know we're not alone and we're understood. Sometimes, though, I don't want to connect in that way, and I wonder if it holds me back. I can feel like I'm getting stuck in other people's difficulty moving forward.

Do you think it could help to either restrict to yourself to certain forums only (ones that you see more positivity in), to restrict the time you spend here or to take a break altogether for a while? Maybe that could help you clarify things, and if you do decide you want to be here you might be clearer about why.
