i have had an exceptionally great care manager for the past three or four years, she really understands me and is the only person who allows me to feel ok about how i feel even when that is me screaming at her in frustration, she understands that it is the siutation i am in that is making me feel that way, that i am a nice person underneath it all. I really look forward to seing her each month and I know she enjoys seing me too (usually) only today she told me that she is being moved on to a different building with a new job (bit better). We have arranged for me to meet her next week to introduce the person replacing her, and she has told me she looked for the nicest person to allocate me to, and i truly believe she will have because she goes over and above her job to ensure her clients are ok. only problem is i do not cope well with change, Trust is something i rarely have in people, in fact there are only a hand full of people i really trust and me care manager is one of them.
All the vulnarability i felt in the past before i met with my present one has come flooding back

I would feel the same way. But it's good that there has been trust so there might be a good handover.
Thanks for this!

Hi Yellowted ~ I can certainly understand -- but I also know that your care manager would NOT leave you with just "anyone.' I'm sure she made SURE that the person that was going to take her place was someone "special" and was someone that YOU could trust.

Yes, it will take a few sessions before you can TOTALLY trust, but please keep an open mind and give her a chance? I know she's going to be concerned ONLY with your well-being -- otherwise your care manager would NOT have chosen her. I really believe this.

So try not to worry. This could turn out to be even a better therapist than the one before! One never knows. Let us know, okay? Take care hon & God bless. Hugs, Lee

thank you both, part of me knows it should be ok but part of me remembers the care manager I had before my present one , she was a total nightmare, threatened me that she would stop all my benefits and care money if i bought myself a mobility scooter even though without one i was housebound at 38! she also lied about this when confronted in a meeting with me and her boss! she also insisted i use a zimmer frame to get to her office (4 miles away) when i could hardly walk ten steps without falling with the zimmerframe!
that is partly why i am sooo scared of the new one! I just wish I could keep the great one i have now but that is not to be.
