I am tired. I don't know what has come over me today. I just feel like I have to type. The world feels heavy to me today. I am tired. I am tired of hearing people complain. I am tired of hearing advertizing tell us that products can do more than they actually do. I am tired of this feeling of "So what!"

What has happened to humanity? We are screaming at doctors for cures where there are none. Putting up with ancient treatments when we sense that companies are holding back better treatments or cures so profits can be made as long as the illness continues. Brilliant minds are being overlooked because their "proof" hasn't been given a chance to show yet (i.e. must have experience, peer approved materials to back up a theory).I am tired of hearing the professionals state that we have made life better and yet we still serve the 1% elite as we always have. I am tired of wanting something and not knowing what it is I am seeking to find.

I am tired of seeing my paycheck go from my employer to me and back out to utility services, my landlord, pharmacies, and sometimes, a grocery store. I am tired of seeing two people expected to do the work of five for half the pay. I am tired of trying to explain a better way of doing things and just hearing it thrown back in my face with "NO!" "NO!"

I am tired of being told we are never doing enough. We can always do better. When are we doing enough? I am tired of hearing of hatred, conflict, greed, death, and yet nothing but inactive words come out of it. I am tired of fear, hunger, anxiety, stress, frustration, confusion, misinformation, manipulation, dehumanization to technology, loss of individuality, loss of emotional freedoms. I am tired of wires, buttons, batteries, cells, chips, circuits, neurons, iAnythings, screens, viruses, oil, numbers, data, weapons, chemicals.

I am tired of sanitization, sterilization, allergens, pathogens, epidempics, strains, substances, contaminants, germs, public paranoia, media hype, stigma, diets, calories, advice, news, miracles, promises, guarantees, warrantees, deadlines, limits, rules, regulations, violations.

I have no energy left in me. I have no motivation in me. What has happened to community, respect, trust, honesty, expression, and self worth? Does humanity stand a chance of saving ourselves and our planet with any of these traits? I am feeling so tired.

Hi, Nick. After reading your post, I'm tired, too. It is sad looking at an overview of things we have to put up with. The world is full of bad stuff and bad news these days. I believe there are many who feel like you but don't see what they as an individual can do to stop the madness. There are days when i think of the fate of the world and really have no solution to the problems and that in ifself is depressing to me.

I'm one who can barely maintain life, in my small little life. Wish I could do more with my personal life and the world around me, but until the depression raises I'm stuck in my head and can't find the way out.

Thanks for writing and giving us something to think about today.

(((Nicks_Nose))),

You need to stop carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders that way. You work, you have a job, you can pay those bills, you have your health, while you don't have everything you want, and while many people still struggle, we still live longer lives then we used to, we still have medicines that save lives. There "are" positives, but unfortunately we are inundated with bad news by all the media.

There really are a lot of people in the world who would love to trade places with you too. You live in a safe country compared to other countries too.

You have a right to have a down day, but do your best to not stay there ok?

((Hugs))

Good point. On our most broke day, we're still some of the richest people in the world!

I still have very nice people to interact with each day. From friends on PC like yourselves, to coworkers, to customers, to family. I guess as a society, we not only feel others suffer, but we also can feel others' joy if we allow ourselves to. Thank you, everyone for the kind words. I really needed them today. BIG HUGS

It can all be so overwhelming at times. Try and monitor what you expose yourself to at times like these.

I KNOW for instance there are days when I CANNOT watch the news, and cannot watch much else on TV, either. I can't listen to the radio. I need to go find shelter for my psyche and a balm for my overtired brain.

Try not to take it all on. Because it's just too big and too scary for one person to manage!

Look at the stars, listen to a beautiful calm piece of music, take a long lovely candle-lit bath. Do anything that makes you feel better. Anything.

I try to stay away from the media; but it's hard because my son has Asperger's, and he's really (I mean really - he gets upset if he misses it) into watching the local news and the Weather Channel. But I'm suffering from anxiety, and it doesn't make me feel good at all. Not even the Weather Channel. Notice the words they use. "Threatening, severe, devastating winds, etc." And the same on the news plus images of cop cars, ambulances... It makes me very uncomfortable. When you're feeling bad, it's just best to avoid it.
