Hey guys, I'm living a bad moment in relation to contact with people, but no way I'm gonna give a step backwards in my intention to be moré social.
I'm sure when a relation with a person ends up bad, it's not the other's guilt or at least, not only. There are many kind of possibilities.
So, it's in the past the time when I saw people as a threat or I dislike them.

In this sense, I wanted to read about qualities or acts from people who wakes up a positive feeling.

I like when people make me laugh.
I also like these people who have a strong personality and think by themselves. They don't let themselves think what is considered you to think or believe.
They are open and flexible but take their own decissions.

What do you appreciate in people?

I am old school here. I appreciate the most fundamental things in people.

Values, integrity, true to their word, strong enough to tell me something to my face rather than go behind my back. Truth, respect, loyalty, and consistency..

If I find these in people I am blessed beyond all things.
Thanks for this!

You seem to be asking for specific traits but... I like their ability to occasionally surprise me by doing something altruistic or kind w/o expectations of reward or acknowledgement. It gives me fresh hope.

Specific traits or general, whatever.

Good choice!
Kindness and the one said by other posters, honesty, are the best.

I really like when people talk to me about their passions. It makes me feel all fuzzy, even if I can't follow everything they're saying.

Goodness, yes! I've this one friend who's generous whenever he feels like it. I don't always need it, but the very existence of it is something to appreciate in and of itself.

I appreciate it when someone is a good listener and non-judgmental. It seems to be a really difficult thing for some people to letting others talk without interrupting. I also appreciate people that are reliable and helpful.
Thanks for this!

I have just written a thread about judgement. I also like understanding people and non judgemental people.
Some people judge people without knowing others and their circumstances.
The best judgement is the one who can do the person oneself.

I agree with your last sentence. In the end, we have to live with ourselves, it is all what it boils down to. Sometimes, we are our worst critic though

What a great question! I appreciate kindness the most in people. In this world, I feel like everyone is looking out for themselves and climbing over people to get what they want. When I find someone who is just a genuine, kind person, I know they are a keeper. I also value a sense of humor If a person can't laugh at themselves then I feel they are a bit too uptight

Completely agree with you, Megan.

I want to add another thing. A thing that I found very difficult to learn, as any person who has a personality disorder. Being a flexible person. Being open-minded.

I tell her this is the reason I married her (along with great communication). After 39 yrs I would do it all over again with all the rough patches. Yes, she's an angel for sticking with me thru my bipolar hell.

She always tells me 'grow old with me, the best is yet to be' !! Thank you for your comment it reminds me that I am not always thankful for the beautiful in my life.
