About the dating sites.... been there, done that. I invested a lot of time, emotional energy, losing a lot of money btw, to losers and users. I don't mean to put a damper on the suggestion, but my experiences were exhausting and not good. Good to hear that others here have had happy success. You just have to go into it being very discerning, which I guess I was not. I am too empathetic, and found myself victimized repeatedly. Thus, my choice to be alone. If you desire a partner, then maybe you'll have success with the dating sites. In the meantime, going to meet-ups and joining groups sounds healthier to me.

Wandering, as per your status of having all the advanced degrees, first, I congratulate you. Very impressive. Beyond that, though, there are all kinds of classes you could take that don't require achieving a degree.

Yes, I agree. Online dating sites take a lot of time and money with virtually no good results. I've tried it, but then decided to delete my account eventually. At best, for every 20-30 messages I get one message answered, and this one person usually doesn't continue.

I'm going to meetup groups where socializing is a an element. But even the meetup groups I've tried, nothing goes beyond the meeting ground. Actually, some guys who I met two or three times became annoying, without going into the details.

In general, I don't feel comfortable in those meetings, because I prefer one-on-one communication for a prolonged time to feel a sort of connection. So, I'm not sure if I'll continue this. I'm not interested in any classes right now.

This is the irony; I prefer to be alone or with one or two persons with whom I truly connect, but at the same time I hate being alone and lonely. That's why I think a relationship for me is the best option.
