What do you do when people continuously tell you how you're a very unlikable person, no matter where you turn and who you associate with? It seems as if the World wants to have me be no part of it and it's infinite beauty. Here I thought I could be a part of it. How foolish I am.

Is this attention seeking behavior? Am I looking for a pity party? Is it all "well, boo hoo" for me? Fine, so be it. I'm an attention seeking, "boo hooing" someone to be pitied then. You have sufficently judged me, now leave me to wallow in the stew I have made of my own tears and misery.

Oh, and just in case your curious, this isn't really a reaction to not getting a reply to a message on Match, but rather me just venting about how people suck in general.

People wonder why I am the way I am, or they simply don't give a flying rat's arse...whatever makes you sleep better at night I suppose. Anyways, you all can put me on ignore now. You are going to do so eventually. Every one does. No one wants to hear me anyways....

Dying alone sounds so miserable and desolate and just something I can't stand to do, but it may well be what happens in the end.

I like you artchick! I don't always agree with things you say but I always respect your right to say them. Sometimes I feel exactly as you do right now. I hope this passes for you soon and you begin seeing yourself as the likeable person you are. We are human and have good days and bad....we have days we need to vent. Just be you. Listen to the cyndi Lauper song in my signature and really pay attention and internalize the lyrics.

Some of the greatest minds in history have had their enemies. Nobody is liked by everyone and if you have just one good friend you are rich indeed.

I disagree with you often but I respect a lot about you. I respect that you have things in life that are important to you and you continue to be passionate about those things. I respect that you aren't afraid to say what you're thinking. No, I don't respect that, I admire it.

You are very smart and emotionally intelligent (whether you know that about yourself or not), and you continually seek to improve yourself.

Don't get too down in the dumps. You are unique and strong. You will find what you are looking for eventually, and it will be worth it.

I get the feeling that you may be thinking people are telling you they don't like you, but they really aren't, you just feel like they are.

Hi Artchick. I'm new here and was just reading your post. It sounds a lot like the post I wrote (minus the dying alone part) online for one of my classes in which we had to watch a stupid self help video and comment on it. The video itself wasn't that bad, but one of the comments a fellow student wrote about how we should only surround ourselves with people who uplift us got my back up so bad! I tried to stop myself from posting, but it was too late and there was no erase post option. Ooooops! This is an ableist/saneist world. We are all taught that happy emotions are the only acceptable ones, even worse is that we are not taught how to regulate our emotions. This should be taught from childhood and continue throughout our whole lives! And in my belief, one should not have to pay for these services! This cycle of negative self worth has to stop somewhere. Not for you, well yes for you, but I'm talking more about society. There's my rant! I hope you are doing well where ever you are!

We send our kids to school all day and do not teach classes on kindness and respect. We just expect it when many kids are coming from very stressed 2 parent overworked environment and parents expect the kids to learn it in school and nobody is being taught. Then we wonder why bullying and assault still occur on the playground. Character building classes should be taught along with reading and writing. Humanities and social science should be in play in elementary through masters degree. Learning the psychology of society is very enlightening to young minds. Teaching compassion could greatly further humanity.

Artchick, i hope you can get some insight from people here, there are others including myself who have been through this and with the passage of time and some help with others. you are probably a sensitive person, i hope you can see a doc and t they really helped me get on the right path for me, although i'm still working on my issues too.

It's not so much that I "feel" they are telling me this, but that they actually are. They literally tell me things like "it's no wonder why you're not liked" or "Have you ever wondered why you're not liked around here?"

Who are these people though? Where do you meet them? Have you considered changing career or social groups etc it seems like you surround yourself with rude people. It sounds like high school bullying to me. Do you work in a bad environment? It really sounds horrid

What did you do or say that they say its so obvious you are not liked because of? You must be doing or saying nasty, mean, hurtful things. They can't all be making it up for no reason? Are they being honest? Do you need to look at yourself here and become nicer and more likable?
