... in my hands, mostly. My hands, wrists, and arms. Sometimes it'll be in my legs and feet too. I've been looked over and they can't see anything physically wrong with me; I know it's attached to my depression because the pain comes whenever I'm low. It's not horrible, it's just achy enough to make doing anything with my hands really difficult/tiring/frustrating/painful, especially writing/typing, which is one of the only things I actually WANT to do when I'm feeling low. It's like the depression's trying to defeat me at every turn...
Sometimes taking tylenol helps, but not always. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem, and if you have any tricks to get the pain to go away/lessen?

Advil or Alleve may work better if it is actually a muscle ache and not depression. Worth a try if you can take Advil or Alleve. Know many people can not due to bleeding problems. Tylenol only works on pain the other has a direct anti-inflammatory effect.

Yes, I take advil (or ibuprofen) and try to avoid 'liver damaging' drugs like acetaminphin....I usually take like 1000mg for the pain in my legs, and feet. But I've never tried Alleve...as Advil works fine for me....I don't have arthritis, just pain, and I know it is from my depression symptoms...
Most antidepressant drugs claim to decrease these symptoms....but I've always had problems with peripheral pain in the limbs no matter what med I was on...So I take ibuprofen when the pain is severe....but only during 'the bad' episodes....because toxic effects can occur from overuse....If the pain gets too severe you can go to a prescription med given by your Psych.... I hope this helps, justfloating, pain sucks!

Ick. I get that too ... sometimes I'm not even sure it's related to depression. But I noticed it + depression instantly because of my music playing - best I can come up with is rubbing the areas (depending on what kind of ache) ... hot showers or baths can really help loosen things, and stretching might help too. Granted some of these take energy x.x but that's all I've come up with thus far

turquoisea, has a good point.....try warm baths...as warm as you can stand them....for the lower extremities....till you sweat heavily....They will help.....probably better than NSAIDS....which is the case for me...When I get out I feel alot better and can sleep without pain in my lower extremeties......till next day......
