So I feel this is the first step to helping myself. I'm not sure how to start or what to do.
I have not been to a doctor to be diagnosed with depression but i did some research online and felt that that is what i'm dealing with and have been dealing with for years. I always knew something was wrong with me, and didn't know what it was...but after reading the symptoms, i feel like i'm in the right direction. i'm 31 years old, married to a wonderful man, and have two step children. That in itself can be very difficult to deal with. i'm glad i found this outlet and hope that i will get better acquainted with this site and the users. i sometimes feel that no one know what i'm going through and that they think i'm just feeling sorry for myself. i guess in reality i feel like i do feel sorry for myself and i dont know how to deal with that. thanks for readying...and i look forward to any comments or advice. |

hi, welcome to PC! This is a great source of information and support, and I know you'll find lots of both on here.
Have you considered going to the doctor at all? The first step after realizing something might be wrong is figuring out how to deal with it, and seeing a professional will at least give you some kind of starting point. That being said, I know how terrified I was to see the doctor -- I put it off for months after I first started wondering if something might be wrong, and I put off going to therapy for even longer after that. Although getting help was the best thing I ever did for myself, I know what a huge step it is. I hope you keep posting and let us know how you're doing. ![]()

Welcome to PC! I am so glad you found us. While we can empathize with feelings you may have and similar experiences you may want to consider going to a professional that can give you a dx. There are many different ways that can be used to heal and there are medications to help alleviate the emotional and physical pain. Know we are here to support you whatever you decide.

Hello and a very warm welcom to PC, it is a wonderful resource and full of wonderful people to relate to and listen and exchange ideas with. Many of us in dealing with our symptoms sought help through the medical and therapeutic professions and are living good fullfiling lives despite our disadvantages. Talking really helps. Please post and enjoy reading the other posts, I am sure you will find many things here that you can relate to.

Welcome to PC and I hope you find a safe place here. The people are wonderful and caring. We are listening and support you. I hear what you are saying and I want you to know you are not alone. I am sorry you are feeling this way but I am glad you took the step to reach out. I know that can be scary in and of itself. It took me a long time to feel safe enough to post. Take your time and know that you are safe here. I do hope too that you will go see a doctor. They can help and give you something to help you also. Have you ever thought about seeing a therapist? I know that is scary and hard but sometimes having someone to talk to out there can really help. Taking that step is huge but after taking that step myself--it has been one of the greatest things I ever did for myself. But do that when you are ready. Until then, we are here to listen and walk with you through your feelings. I hope you will continue to post and reachout.
