Hey, I know it has been so long since I've visited here, but I'm really needing it tonight.
Anyway, I am just looking for advice on dealing with meltdowns in the workplace. It rarely happens to me, but I came extremely close today. I'm worried and embarrassed if anyone saw or noticed. What happened was I ended up getting obsessive thoughts in my head, like I know happens from time to time, and I was ready to cry about nothing at all. I did wake up in the mood this morning because I had a bad dream, which I can't remember. But, I was almost crying from the time I woke up. Now I feel embarrassed to go in tomorrow, incase people did notice. I tried taking some long breaths and went to the restroom to calm down for a few, but it just didn't help.

I have gone to the restroom many times to calm down when I worked. From my experience most people do not ask about it. Better to go back in with your head held high and act as if nothing has happened.

I, too, have gone off to the rest room for a cry. Just wait it out, splash some cold water on your face. If anyone asks what's wrong, tell them you had a sneezing or coughing fit.
Don't worry about what they think. If they noticed something the day before, chances are very good they're not going to say anything the next day. If they do ask and you don't want to answer, just tell them politely that you'd rather not discuss it.
