I don't know where this thread belongs so I am writing it here.
I feel very upset, angry and hurt right now!   I just went down to my basement to look for my Christmas tree and decorations. I know exactly where I left them the last time I looked. In fall 2008, my brother who only had keys to my home and total access to it, came over one day to clean my home (without me asking him to do so). In the summer of 2008, I had a furnace installed. In addition to my Christmas tree and decorations that are missing so is my brother's adult movie collection (long story how those ended up in my basement). When I have had manic episodes which I haven't had in 3 years. I would take things and make a shrine in my kitchen. Yes, I know it sounds bizzare but I was manic. But at no time did I ever through my belongings in the garbage or give them away. I sent an e-mail to my brother explaining the situation. I am expecting him as usual to say that I am not thinking clearly or he will dx me with another disorder.

 Sorry things are not going so well for you. Didn't you have the tree last Christmas? You mentioned your brother was over in the fall of last year. Maybe I got it mixed up , forgive me if I read it wrong.

I didn't really get into the holiday spirit last year. Christmas time is difficult for me since it is the last month my mom was alive. She has been gone for 10 years. My brother was last in my home fall 2008. The men installing my furnace were in my home summer 2008. I have no memories of these thing being put in the garbage or giving them to someone.

He's not gaslighting you is he? If you think it was him maybe you can surprise him by showing up on his doorstep on christmas morning...one of you will be surprised as you marvel at his christmas tree.

Oh, how awful! No wonder you and angry and hurt. Can you buy another tree and ornaments? It sounds like you really wanted to put up a tree this year. It would be a shame if you didn't because of this.

Very embarrassing!
 I found my brother's friend's adult movie collection as well as my artifical Christmas tree. Now all that is missing are my Christmas ornaments!
