I've been reading some of these posts, and it does seem like there is a pretty good community going on here.

I'm struggling a lot with depression lately. I've been through some different things, rape, and was also hospitalized before for an acute psychotic reaction a few years ago. I'm new here so I don't know if this is the right discussion board that I should be at, or if there might be a better one for me.

I'm pretty frustrated lately because it seems like I've been doing all the right things like getting on medication and seeing a therapist, but I still don't feel like I'm getting any better, actually I feel pretty bad lately, but that's probably also due to the stress of my senior year in college and that it is the end of the semester. I also have to move next month too, and this is kind of sudden so it is also another big stressor in my life.

Sometimes I feel like I don't have a lot of friends that I can turn too, but I also think that this is related to my not being able to trust people very much. Thanks for reading.

Hello, graciemi. The winter months are generally a more difficult time for me. To help combat the loss of sunlight, I talk to my doc about bumping my meds up a bit. Seems to help. Maybe increasing the dosage would help you too?

Good luck.
Thanks for this!

Welcome to PC. Sorry to hear about previous problems you've had. I think you've made a good decision coming here. It's hard when you feel like you don't have any friends who you can turn to. I'm sure a lot of people feel that way on the boards. If you would like better support for abuse, there is a section here http://forums.psychcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=14. I hope you find it beneficial. Remind yourself that you are doing the right thing (getting medication & seeing a therapist).

Welcome! It is a pretty good community, and it seems about to be getting even better now that you are here Really, people here are very supportive and willing to share from their experiences to help others. Good place to be.
On the meds.... maybe you need to switch them or think about an amplifier; that's a medication which can increase the efficacy of another medication. Definitely talk to your P-doc because you really shouldn't be this bad if you are on something. Hug now.
Thanks for this!
