It's been a quite few days. I'm very gloomy in the past 5 days. I finally go out by myself just to kill times, grab some drinks, but it turns out I'm only out for 2 hours, I don't have enough energy. I'm too depressed. What is it about me, really, sometimes I'm just confused about myself. I got all the time in the world to do something useful but I didn't do that, what I do is sleep watching tv and this. I'm in need to talk to someone, either on the phone or face to face. Someone that can understand me & accept me for who and what I am. I just couldn't find the right person at the moment. I miss her, someone that I met a few days ago, weird feeling. I miss my drug-use problem, what the hell am I thinking. I don't know, I'm pretty messed up right know. I just wish I have someone beside me. I'm trying to keep my head straight, let's just hope I can get through it.

I’m sorry you are going through such a rough time. You sound very lonely and you think your world is very small.
I can relate to both of those.
Do you have a therapist? That seems to help me to have an understanding, compassionate person to talk to and problem solve with.
Are there any support groups where you live. You might meet some people that understand depression.
Wishing you some peace

Hi Berries, yeah actually I do feel lonely at the moment, it's been a rough days. Unfortunately I don't have a therapist, or support groups. I know only one person who can understand depression in my area, but he's been out of reach cause he's now busy with his things. Thanks Berries

Perfectsilence, based on your history, do you think your current gloom will lift on its own soon? Is there anything in your bag of coping tricks to hasten its departure? Does your environment hold something that is prolonging the gloom?

Wishing you a speedy lift into the sunshine!

I agree with Berries. You should look online for support groups that meet in your area. Online help really isn't enough in the dark times (not for me, anyway). We can offer our support, understanding, helpful resources, and any wisdom we may have here, at Psych Central.

Personally, I'd recommend getting in to see a therapist soon. People often use drugs & alcohol to avoid dealing with their painful emotions. Coping methods. There are other coping methods ~ exercise (my fave), cooking, cleaning, dancing, singing, writing, fishing, physical sports, games, the list goes on.

Best wishes to you ~ I hope that you find some helpful healthy techniques to help you through the dark times very soon! Do get help in working through your emotions too. K?

Shez

I know it's not the same, but you can post here whenever you like. Maybe you'll get to know someone whom you can hear also privately, outside of PC...

Take good care of yourself

Rohag – Well I’m still feeling gloomy today, I just woke up and thinking about the worst thing I could ever done already. Coping tricks, I usually just go somewhere listening music and drink, but it doesn’t work yesterday, other bad coping tricks is my drug-use I’m trying not to, I don't know about positive coping tricks, I can't think of any at the moment. My environment, I think it’s quite alright, doesn’t have anything to do with this gloomy thing, it’s just me, it’s inside me I guess.

shezbut – I’ll see if I can find some support groups in my area. And hope I can go see a therapist soon. I just started to exercise 2 weeks ago, it helps, but sometimes my bad mood keeping me away from it. Other coping methods, I’m not sure what I can do for now, I haven’t clean up my room in weeks, never do sports, etc. I’m just stuck inside my head at the moment.

lonegael – Thank you for the huggs and warmth, it means a lot!

*freak* - Yeah I like writing in here, mostly I wrote nonsense, when I read it again I feel like I want to delete it. But these are the days when I just need someone to kill times with me, share things with me.

Thanks for the replies everybody!

I hope things start getting better for you. Sometimes people use things like alcohol and drugs to try and escape their problems, or their negative emotions that they don't want to feel. I would also advise you to seek some professional help or a support group if it is available.

Or, another thing you could do is go to www.psychologicalselfhelp.org and read some of the sections/chapters that have to do with how you are feeling. Maybe this online source can help you to learn about different ways to cope and you can try a variety of them.

Hang in there. Take baby steps, make a small goal of something you want to accomplish and work towards it little by little. Take things one day at a time. This is helpful for me.
Thanks for this!

Would you consider speaking to someone on a listening hotline? Some are listed at www.contact-usa.org; you can call one outside of your immediate area if necessary. There is also 1-800-273-TALK.

((((((Perfect silence)))))))) You don't sound as desperate at least, maybe I'm wrong. that lonliness will get you every tim. It's a killer. The people I knew who were invilved with drugs often missed the socila asppect when they stopped. There is a sort of communtity among users. Still, it is a community which hinges on self destruction... That might not seem so important when you are so alone.
Please try to hang in there. Maybe we can brainstorm about ways to get you some more present friends than the one who is so busy now. What do you think? Guys? My own socializing patterns are very limited, but maybe someone has some good ideas.
Hugggs, PS. It's a horrible time of the year to feel the way you do now. Keep in touch, and I will definitely try to be there in spirit (in case you're wondering I'm that short, brown haired, round, squirrely little woman scampering about saying "anyone seen my..... I swear I put it right there!")
