I have been challenged by LMo to write down the good things that have happened to me over the last 5-7 years. Seems that she thinks there is a "black cloud" over many of us this week and perhaps posting these things will help cheer us up. Damn LMo you are good.... just when I think I am at the end of my rope you have to pull this one.

OK, here goes.... good things....in my life over say last 5 years...

1. I have experienced much joy in coaching girls softball. Really threw myself into it and received so many wonderful complements from parents.
2. I have enjoyed my children, even if I don't get to see them as much as I would like. They are pretty cool kids and I am so very proud of them.
3. I learned a lot about myself and what I think is important in this life.
4. I have learned from my mistakes and I understand wht I would need to have a happy life.
5. I did meet a wonderful woman and shared a terrific friendship and learned perhaps for the first time what it felt like to be loved unconditionally.

OK LMo that's the best I can do for now. Others care to take a shot? Good things in your life over say last 5 years?

EXCELLENT! You did a great job Ltlredvett! One of these days you'll have to tell us more about what your kids are like.

1) I recovered from an unwanted divorce and came out... with my head held high! I didn't do anything stupid or vengeful, even though I was really hurt... well, actually I did do one little thing to get even... I signed my ex up for any mailing lists I came across. Heh heh...
2) I bought a historic house in Philly, made some great new friends (neighbors), renovated it, did a great job, and sold it for a nice bundle
3) I adopted the two nicest kitties in the world! Picture is on http://www.snapfish.com/thumbnailsha...165/t_=7329614
4) My friends at my last client made a big sign saying "WE MISS YOU LEE ANN" and took a picture of themselves in front of it, and emailed it to me after I told them that I really hadn't made many friends at my new client (I'm a consultant)
5) About two weeks ago, my team at my NEW client decorated my desk, got party hats, streamers, and made signs saying "HAPPY NATIONAL LEE ANN DAY", and assembled themselves for yet ANOTHER picture! And emailed it to me at home! They told me that International Lee Ann day is going to be even better!
6) I drove across country, saw a lot of this absolutely beautiful country. The Badlands in South Dakota really moved me. The Upper Peninsula in Michigan is astounding. We live in a really, really beautiful country, I am proud to say. Being an east coast girl, I never realized it.
7) I moved to 2 different, very cool cities. I fell in love with the 2nd city (Portland) and really feel like I'm at home and have bought a house and have settled down here.
8) I visited 16 countries in the past 7 years
9) I travelled by myself a lot and didn't have anything bad happen to me
10) I fell in love with someone who I really found a deep connection with (and he's very cute, too, I might add!). This is after I thought my heart was permanently broken because of my divorce.

I BANISH YOU, YOU STUPID DARK CLOUD!

We are ALL going to be a-ok!

Wow LMo that is quite a list, mine pales in comparison. It was good to write the list, but I must say that I am REALLY not having a very good day. I am soooo scared right now. I hope this passes. Sorry to be a downer, but I feel pretty down and I am worried.

Good things over the last 5 years......hmmmmmmmm

1. I've watched my son learn to read, do math, and grow into a beautiful child.

2. I've held alot of management jobs and done well with them in terms of numbers and profits.

3. I have gotten a new car last March.

4. I met my T and started on this so very long journey to "self-discovery".

5. My parents are still alive, not in the best of health, but they are there and Alex has the opportunity to know them.

6. I have managed to juggle more decisions, problems and solutions than I ever thought possible.

7. I have met some wonderful people that are now my friends - some have moved on, but regardless they enriched my life.

Geez, this was not that easy. I should do this more often.

Hmmmm...last 5 years you say...

1. Got to advance important issues, for and affecting individuals with disabilities, including litigating an important class action lawsuit, and forwarding several initiatives/individual representations, leading to systemic change in existing laws and benefits programs...

2. Got to have the privilege of caring about, and providing care-giving to, my friend who died of complications related to AIDS...

3. Had a place to land when everything hit...

4. Experienced some valuable friendships in my in-person world, and made new friends on the internet, (present company included Good Things)...

5. Got the cutest puppy in the world...

6. Traveled to several states/saw a lot of things, before everything went to heck in a handbasket...

Neat idea Vett & LMo!!

Peanut - you're an attorney? Interesting! I'm considering a career change... from software consulting to arbitration. I plan to start working on "my plan" after this project is over. I have a bunch of baby steps mapped out.

You sound really compassionate... I like you. And your puppy IS cute! Do you have other pictures online somewhere?

1. I came through and recovered from a terrible divorce...few scars but pretty good ( darn wish I thought of the mailing lists) lost my house, financial struggles, etc.

3. Had my oldest son through fertility treatments...last treatment and my miracle boy was there Good Things went through and recovered from infertility issues which were extremely difficult for me health wise.

4. I have seen my Mom through her illnesses and death which has made me stronger.

5. I changed careers(nursing) and I created a successful business...still working there...as well as working for a non profit government agency...very rewarding. Balancing work, 2 kids and I think I am doing ok Good Things

6. Met a wonderful guy (cute too Good Things - my baby's Dad) who is the most supportive person I know...my rock.

Well, this thing was a great idea, although I'm sure that most of us probably had a hard time thinking of good things. So here I go...

1.) Learned more about other people.
2.) Made some great friends.
3.) Realized I'm a terrible person and need to change.
4.) Got better at soccer.
5.) "I Found God" as Nirvana put it.

Sorry thats so lame. Shouldn't have posted lol. I tried though.
