Sorry about posting so much. I guess I've had a lot on my mind. Today I just feel like I am so done with depression. I'm so tired of it. (ha-who isn't?). What I mean to say is that I haven't felt really bad lately, just "stopped" like someone clamped my feet to the ground. And confused like I forgot how to participate in life, how to be, how to relate. I'm thinking about maybe (possibly) joining the gym tomorrow. I need something to hold on to.

Joining the gym is probably a great idea and yeah, i can so totally relate with the "**** depression" feeling. Is there anything at the gym in particular that you are looking forward to doing?

Hi Sophia,
I guess I would look forward to using the machines. I used to like them a lot. I like to zone out, it becomes meditative.

I started back at the gym two weeks ago; I used to enjoy it too but life and depression won out. Trying to start a new routine now and needed to do something for myself. This isn't easy so I have been just a few times but the sense of accomplishment is wonderful. It's also nice knowing it's healthy and the stress relief has been great. I recommend it. Worth a try just be sure not to take on too much, ease into it.
Thanks for this!

HI Elana05, I'm so sorry you are feeling stuck right now but I do like the idea of going to a gym. It shows you still have some fight and determination to overcome. Good for you. You should be proud. Hang in there. shaggy
Thanks for this!

Elana05,
Sorry to hear that you are feeling stuck. I am with you in feeling like I have had it with depression. Enough already! I've had to take a medical leave AGAIN and schedule extra therapy sessions AGAIN, etc, etc...
When I can get myself to do it, I do find that exercise is really helpful in getting past that "stuck" place... it gives me a little more energy and a little more ability to overcome inertia. It is great that you are thinking about joining a gym! Let us know how it goes.
Thanks for this!

Hi Elena, lovely to see somebody taking active steps to help themselves feel better... if the gym feels meditative for you like you said then it sounds like a great idea to start going again! Exercise is soo good for depression and all that kind of stuff, so it should help, too.
I don't go to a gym right now (gym fees are high here) but I did buy an exercise bike about 2 weeks ago and I feel so great after using it, feel quite proud of myself and excited that I'm getting in shape.
Good luck!
Thanks for this!

I can't thank you all enough for being so supportive.
Makes my heart feel a little lighter.
Garden Gal,
I hear you on this one. I too am paying for extra therapy sessions. I feel like a bottomless pit. The information there is so valuable -- like getting oxygen. But not cheap. Big sigh.
Hang in there, I think any of this self-care pays off.

Keep working it, Elana05. I have found exercise to be better than any pill.
Thanks for this!
